Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1984

THE HORN DOESN'T WORK, TOOK OUT FUSE BECAUSE IT HONKED RANDOMLY. NEEDS A RING IN STEERING WHEEL.
I bought this a couple years ago - in retrospect, trying to relive some of my youth. I got it from a guy who kept the repair & maintenance receipts since he owned it & from prior owners. It has 129,603 miles on it, less than 1000 by me. I hasn't been driven in the winters here in Maine. The engine and transmission were removed and rebuilt at 83,904 miles. A new water pump at 87,673. New clutch assembly at 82,214. New radiator, hoses, etc. at 78,412. New front brake calipers, etc. at 91,179. It had a new fuel tank put in in 2000. These are the major repairs, there are many more records of lesser repairs & maintenance. The camper seems completely original & that's really why I'm selling. I put some decals on the windows & was going to go full on "hippie van" with it, but that seems to be the wrong thing to do with this. The carpet, upholstery, curtains, etc. are all original. This should be restored properly with original color paint, etc. I did a luggage rack rebuild & put a new gasket around the pop top. The canvas on the pop top will need to be replaced as you can see. You may be able to patch it for a couple of years, but there is actually a hole at the rear - see pics. It starts & runs great - my wife & I took it over to NH for a show - a few hundred miles. It has the superficial rust you can see but seems structurally sound to me. I haven't used the sink/stove/refrigerator at all. The guy who sold it to me said it probably needs a new regulator valve for the propane tank. It does have a little bit of the "lawnmower" sound...the man at the shop here said the exhaust manifold has a small crack that doesn't affect the performance. Message me if you'd like further info or more pictures.
