Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1971
1971 VW Camper Van
As you may know, this is the last year of the classic "doghouse" dual-port engined vans. It is the first year to have front disc brakes. It has the solid top with a removable sunroof. I greatly prefer this model over the pop tops. Consider that they do not have leak-prone seals and have more aerodynamic/aesthetically pleasing lines. Nice enough to be greatly appreciated at automotive events, but also a very practical everyday vehicle.
Rebuilt engine with about 15K by All VW of Mountain View, California. It has a rebuilt transaxle with about 14K miles on it. German Transaxle of Bend Oregon did the rebuild.
Installed by D&M Automotive of Portland, Oregon.

Finally, as a camping vehicle, and as Leonardo suggests, "The ultimate sophistication is simplicity."
