240's are known for going 250,000 miles easy! Volvos are safe and reliable,this car is a tank.Definitelybuilt to last. The car wasoriginallyfrom Pennsylvania and this state allows cars to be under-sprayed with oil to prevent rust which was done annually to my understanding. Because of this the underside and body have minimal rust for age. It gets about 21 mpg.This is my daily driver! It runs/rides great! The interior and exterior are very clean for a 22 year old vehicle.
I have owned this car for over two years as my daily driver. I commute around 15 miles a day but have taken it on many long trips as well. I love this car and have taken very good care of it over this time period. Since I own two near classic vehicles, have decided to upgrade to something newer, lthough, will miss this vehicle greatly! I purchased it two years ago from a man in Ohio who was the 3rd owner. The first and second owners were neighbors in Pennsylvania. I was told the original owner was a Professor and used this vehicle as his/her daily driver as well. Pennsylvania requires annual inspections and I have the receipts back to 2003.
The bad:
Water Temperature gauge does not work, ut the cars coolant system works just fine.
Windshield wipers not working (simple linkage issue - wiper motor works).
