1966 Volvo 122S Wagon-This is a Georgia car since at least 10 May, 971 and likely since new. It was purchased used in May of 1971 by a University of Georgia professor in the School of Forest Resources. He used it as daily transportation for over 10 years and sold it when he retired in 1981. The next owner was a gentleman from Watkinsville, eorgia (10 miles south of Athens) who used it to get back and forth from work as well as a fun vehicle in which he and his family shared many fond memories taking camping trips.The car's engine started smoking in 1992 and the car was pulled into a shed on the owner's property, here the engine was removed and disassembled in preparation for a rebuild. That's when life got in the way. A newer family vehicle was purchased, ork demands grew and the owner's world took him in a different direction.So, adly, he poor little Amazon wagon just sat on stands in the shed, aiting for one day when she could be restored and once again used and enjoyed by someone who would love her.Over twenty years passed and, hough the owner passed the car every day in his daily activities, he Amazon continued to sit, aiting.The owner finally realized that, hough he loved the car, e was never going to get around to finishing it and that he would like to see it go to a good home. The car was retrieved via trailer and brought to Speedwell. We looked everything over and present to you the most solid Volvo 122S Wagon you will ever find along with all her parts. Though the engine is apart, t is all there and ready for the right person to put back together.You will notice the right front fender looks sub par to the rest of the car. At some point in the distant past, he fender got a dent in it and was replaced or repaired. At that time the shop must have tried to blend the right font door. The repair was not as good as the original Volvo paintwork so it did not last very well. The fender is not bad though and has only superficial rust from sitting. Though you will see a good bit of Georgia red clay and a few old dirt dauber nests, ou will not see any rot soprevalentin other examples of this car you may find.More Pictures Along With a Look Under Her SkirtThe spare tire, ompartment liner, ack and lug wrench, hough not pictured, re present and in good condition.All the glass in the car is in excellent condition, ith no pits, louding or cracks.There are two sets of keys.The driving lights are very much inserviceablecondition.The doors all open and close perfectly.The wiring harness is unmolested and in very good condition.Speedwell has flexible hours and can easily help the lucky high bidder load the car on a trailer. If the high bidder happens to be from another country, peedwell can provide transport to Port Charleston, outh Carolina or Port Savannah or Port Brunswick, eorgia via insured trailer for an additional fee. Obviously, he car is not currently registered and comes with an old title along with a Bill of Sale. Take note, he title is not current and, hough it comes with the car, hould only be considered as provenance.
