Description for Volvo Other 1972
1972 Volvo 1800 E Coupe, clear Florida title, 148,152 miles. This car is a rolling car, with B20 engine and 4-speed/overdrive transmission. Vin on this car is 1826353 38742, which decodes as follows: 1800E coupe; b20 engine; US model, 4 speed manual; LH drive. The chassis # is 38742. The last 1800 coupe to be produced is # 39414, so this car was just 672units from the end of the model run of coupes. Total number of coupes for the final year 1972 was just 1864 units.
This car needs a complete restoration. The engine turns over with the starter, and under the hood it looks pretty well complete, with no parts apparentlymissing. Air conditioning set-up is present.
The car does not run, and has not run for at least 6 years, maybe longer. It has been stored in a barn in Florida for the last 6 years. Some disassembly of the exterior and rear windshield has been undertaken, as well as removal of the fuel tank. I put the fuel tank back into position, but not really installed.
Please review all photos for condition. This car needs a full restoration. It has rust in the usual places, but being a Florida car, the undercarriage is better than most Northern 1800s. Some parts have been removed, and those parts are included. I am still looking for some other parts, so if you do not see the parts in the photos, they should be considered missing.

UPDATE: I removed the carpet so the condition of the floor pan could be seen. UPDATE: The car will run...I had our very talented roving Cuban mechanic Ricardo at the house this morning, troubleshooting my BMW 2002. He tinkered with the 1800 for a minute or two, shot some starting fluid into the intake, and VOILA! the thing started and ran as he puffed the fluid in for about 15 seconds.
