Description for Volvo 240 1991

I am selling a 1991 Volvo 240 gem, equipped with Automatic Transmission, Power Windows and Door Locks, Cruise Control AC, factory AM-FM Stereo with Cassette Player, Heated Seats and Driver's Side Airbag (Airbags over 10 years old should, or could not be assured of proper operation without qualified Professional inspection and/or service!). Absolutely clean Carfax Report, and had passed CA emissions testing through Feb 2016 license period.
Purchased by my Daughter in July of 2015 in San Jose Ca, where the car was originally sold new and has been serviced by Jensen's Volvo and Honda Service (now Jensen's Foreign Car Service, Inc.) San Jose, Ca since new ( I have all service and repair receipts from Jensen's since the first oil change in Mar '91). I reluctantly must let this beauty go, due to Daughter getting work overseas, and out of the US for the next 3 years. The condition and service history of this car makes it one of those "sight unseen" dream, not nightmare, vehicles! Oil changes have been religiously performed, including many years done every 6 months when the car was only averaging 2200 miles per year. The photo of the dipstick shows the oil condition, and level currently, after 2000 miles since Jensen's changed the oil and filter (10w-30 partial synthetic) for my Daughter before she left CA in Sep '15 at 110,096 miles.
The engine and transmission operate wonderfully, and would appear to be more than ready for the next 100,000 miles. The Timing Belt was replaced at 98k miles in '08, and again at 107k miles when the Water Pump, Coolant, and Belts were replaced (easy and relatively inexpensive when doing that work) in June '13. Belts were changed again in Sep '15 as my Daughter planned on traveling. Battery new in July 2011, and the car rides on a nice set of Yokohama Avid Touring tires with 12-14k miles on them (receipt not found by last owner, but tire date code is '08, so mileage is confirmed from service receipts). Original Temporary Spare is with vehicle and appears unused. AC compressor replaced with new Volvo unit and converted to R-134 in Oct '15 by Pacific Auto Air in Tacoma, WA. Brakes are great, and have been attended by Jensen's throughout the service history, during which the typical variety of other bits and pieces were replaced or serviced. There does not appear to be, nor drives like, there are any mechanical issues with this 240, keeping in mind that it is a 25 year old vehicle with 112k miles on it.
Paint is beautiful, body condition defies its 25 year age, and is virtually door ding, scratch and road rash free. I know there are Malls in San Jose, but it would appear that it was never parked in one! This is a very dry climate car with no metal issues. Interior upholstery looks great, no stains and only has the patina of normal usage. The photos show a few small cracks on the dash, which now has a fitted cover to keep them from growing or multiplying. The vinyl blackout strips on the passenger doors below the glass have the typical 240 checking, while the driver's side is fine. Glass is excellent overall, with a few tiny pits on the windshield. All rubber and weatherstripping is in excellent shape. New Weathertech floor mats in all positions. The driver's side seat heater is non-op, and the passenger side seems to heat, some. The radio section of the Stereo has a sketchy signal capture ratio, with static, but the Cassette Player works. The right-rear factory speaker has distortion/rattle. Map pockets are perfect, and all trim and plastic bits are in place and in fine shape.
I have set a very reasonable Reserve on this excellent vehicle, and will not divulge it. Feel free to call me with any other questions. Rick @ two five three two six seven two one eight three. Thanks very much.
