Description for Volvo 240 1991
I have had this car several years and can tell you pretty much all about it. It is a daily driver and is in solid mechanical condition. I recently took a 600 mile round trip with no problems. The car starts, runs, and stops well. The heat and a/c work and all windows except the left rear roll up and down. The radio only works on AM and the odometer quit working at 160+k about 25k ago. The paint is original and waxes up quite nice. No rust. There are a few dings and scrapes etc. and minimal hail damage. The driver side rear window has a little pitting (see pic) from a careless grinding incident. The window tint is nice and the windshield is not cracked.
The seats are in pretty good shape. The driver seat has a tear that has a poor boys glue job that has held up well. The passenger seat has no tears. There is a tear in the rear seat along one of the seams. The drivers lumbar adjustment does not work and the drivers seat is has a little bit of slope to it from years of someone heavier than I am getting in and out.
The motor has no big leaks and uses little to no oil. The transmission shifts great. I have never installed a timing belt, however the motor mounts are recent and the alternator is near new. There is a little shutter around 15-25 mph when shifting. I suspect a u-joint or drive shaft bearing. It is not significant enough for me to worry about. I cut 3 coils off of each spring for a 3" drop. The rear shocks are in need of replacement.
