Description for Volvo 240 1983
Beautifull all-original and well maintained classic 1983 Volvo 240 (245) DL wagon with sought after manual 4 speed transmission (*with overdrive). The exterior is a cream color called Rose Beige by Volvo. All original paint. Interior is original brown vinyl.Tires are excellent (14 inch factory rims painted black with rare two-piece Volvo caps and chrome trim rings)All glass is excellentRoll up windows all operate as they shouldHeat works exceptionally well...this is not an a/c equipped carOriginal Volvo am-fm radio works great (new chrome external antenna)Overdrive switch is on the shifter and works as it should
There is evidence of prior paint work on the front passenger fender but not noticeable unless you get really close (see photos)Nice front square style quad headlights
Recent work:Timing belt changed with about 10,000 miles logged since (as per previous owner)New starteroil/filter changenew ECUnew wiper motorNew front strutsbrakes servicedoriginal factory tan fitted all weather floor mats
The interior is mint with only one minor bleamish on the drivers seat. There's a new replacement dash cap so no dash cracks showing. Custom dash cover added. Nice headliner. Cargo area is super clean and all original... the nicest I've ever seen.
As typical with Volvo 240's of this vintage, the odometer is broken and now showing 36,433 miles. Best history that can be determined is that this is a three owner car (all in Virginia). Original miles are estimated to be about 188,000 miles and the Virginia title says "188,345 miles" "Not Original". The speedometer works. The clock does not work. There are numerous sources that can repair or replace the broken plastic gears causing these odometers to fail.
I have two other vintage Volvo 240 wagons and am only selling this one to clear a garage spot for a new classic car. It drives true and straight down the highway, starts right up and idles as it should. Perfect clutch. There are zero issues for the next owner to attend to. All it needs is a good clay bar treatment as the paint shows minor signs of oxidation but as the photos show, it looks great as it sits.
I am happy to answer any questions or try to get additional photo's as needed. The car has always been garaged and shows it. A very nice collectible Volvo wagon that will only go up in value.
