Description for Volvo 122 S 1963
Vehicle DetailsThis is a great little 122. The B18 engine is strong and runs great. It has a new Weber carb installed with a K&N filter. The engine mounts and transmission mounts were just replaced. It has a new high flow 2” exhaust system and it sounds awesome. New Gas tank last fall. Driver’s door has a new seal. Hood has new seal as does trunk. I have one for the passenger side front door as well as seals for the triangle “smoking” windows that I’ve yet to install. New steering column rubbers. It’s a work in progress in terms of seals and buyer will need to finish it up. New brakes, shocks and tires. I installed a gauge cluster so you know what’s going on with the engine. It doesn’t overheat and the oil presssure is excellent. Transmission shifts smoothly and the rear diff is smooth as well. The body I believe is the original paint although it may have some areas that were repainted. I’ve included pics of the areas where the paint has flaked off and where there is rust. Over all it’s quite solid for it’s age. The driver side sill needs to be repaired or replaced. The passenger side can be salvaged. It’s not sagging at all. The underside is very solid as I got it from New Mexico. No rust on the frame or cross members. Four speed stick transmission is excellent with no slipping or grinding etc. the interior is decent and the front seats were reupholstered by the previous owner. The back seat is usable and not too bad with the exception of the very top that has been in the sun for 60 years! Headliner is ok and will need to be completed at the rear of the car. The dash cover is an aftermarket one installed by the previous owner. Looks pretty sharp. Shoulder seat belts intact and usable. Lights all work as does horn, wipers and heater motor. I put in a new water control valve last fall.
This is a fun car to drive. I love it but am up to 6 vehicles so a couple need to go and I have lost steam with it. I have sunk a lot into this and realize I won’t get what I’ve put in so I’ll list it at a “ priced to sell” price. A great opportunity to have a legendary Amazon! The B18 engine is an engine that has had members in the million mile Volvo club! This is in dry storage right now and can stay there until spring if need be after full payment received. These are getting harder and harder to come by.
