Description for Volvo 240 1984
Vehicle DetailsFor sale is my 1984 Volvo 240. The odometer is WORKING and shows that the car has just over 44,500 miles. These are original miles, all put on the car by me and its original owner who purchased this car new. Everything seems to be mechanically sound on this car, but I cannot guarantee that it will run flawlessly, nor that it has had all necessary preventative maintenance. I put in new spark plugs, a new coil, some new fuses and relays, as well as new timing and accessory belts. I wanted to continue updates to this car, but due to life circumstances, I have to sell. I drove this car daily for a while, but it has been mostly sitting for the past month or two now. It runs and drives well but there are a few things that I have been meaning to fix, including: the front windows have missing or broken clips and will roll down but are hard to get back up. They need new clips that hold the windows in the regulators which are known to fail or break on these Volvos, and I will include the spare clips that I have. I just never had time to take the doors apart and install them. Next, the air conditioning got cool but not cold in the 90+ degree heat this summer, and I am not sure if it is faulty, just in need of a recharge, or if it was just too hot to keep up. I did not try adding any R12 to test it because I do not have any on hand. The analogue clock in the instrument cluster is not keeping time right now. It is likely the capacitor in the clock, as this was another common failure point. Lastly, the speakers are giving a lot of feedback and likely need to be replaced, and the motorized antenna is not extending nor retracting. However, the radio itself does work. I have not had a chance to touch the inside of the car and it could stand to be detailed, however the seats and mats are in good condition. To any interested party: I would plan on shipping this car instead and I would not recommend driving this car on too long of a road trip until you are able to get it fully checked out to make sure everything is sound.
