Description for Willys Willys 1962

Hello...
Up for sale is a fun little Willys Jeep. I have been working on this project for the better part of 10 months mostly replacing parts (old with new) and putting it back to a mostly stock look. It's an awesome little Jeep that absolutely turns heads and gets loads of attention on the road. Please read the entire description. I have done my best to list all the good and bad with the vehicle. HAPPY BIDDING!
Some of the specs on the vehicle:
  • It is a CJ2A body but it is titled as a 1962 Willys. I was told by the previous owner that it was built on a 1962 CJ5 chassis, nd in going through everything this pretty much seems to be the case.
  • Body tub, enders, rill are ALL fiberglass. The windshield frame is the only body part that is steel. I would say that the tub is fairly decent and sturdy as far as fiberglass goes. If I kept it I would put a steel hood on it, ut that's just me.
  • Transmission is a Saginaw 4 speed - I never use first it's geared so low and currently 4th gear requires a triple clutch pump or it will make noise when shifting into it. I believe it needs the 4th gear synchro replaced. The Saginaw is cheap to replace and cheaper to rebuild. I just haven't gotten to doing either. If it doesn't sell I'm sure I'll just rebuild it this winter.
  • Transfer case is the famous Dana Spicer 18, he transfer case that won World War II! No issues with 4WD or the high/low.
  • Engine is a nice running Buick 225, he Dauntless V6. Plenty of power, lenty of torque, nd that distinct oddfire sound!

Some of the things I have done to the Jeep over the past months:

  • New spark plugs
  • New DUI distributor with 11mm wires
  • All new wiring from front to back with a fuse panel added
  • Some new gauges
  • New tail lights
  • New shocks
  • New front seats (they are boat seats by the way)
  • Added a used rear seat
  • All new seat belts
  • All new brakes and hardware
  • New e-brake cable
  • New hood blocks
  • Updated to an Optima battery
  • New side mirror
  • New clutch slave cylinder
  • New rear view mirror
  • Freshly painted wheels
  • Painted body a few weeks ago
  • New 4WD front hub seals
  • New oil pan and oil pump gaskets
  • Inside of tub herculined but could use another coat to be perfect
  • New Turn signal unit
  • New steering wheel
  • New windshield to body seal
  • New master cylinder
  • New ignition
  • Brand new single exhaust with Y pipe
  • Chassis painted with POR15
  • Drag link repair kit installed
  • Rebuilt Edelbrock 500CFM carburetor
  • New CJ5 fuel tank, ending unit, nd filler hose installed. Mounted underneath in the rear. You aren't sitting on 12 gallons of flammable liquid like most CJ2As
  • New speedometer cable

It only has the minor occasional oil drip, hese things like to mark their territory. It runs very well isn't too loud isn't too quite. Includes a full soft top with doors in perfect shape outside of 1- 1" tear in the rear window that really isn't even visible noticeable. Most of the time I have the rear window rolled up anyway.

What it needs is the following (which doesn't prevent you from driving and enjoying it as is):

  • I would replace the tie rod ends in the front steering as they are pretty worn, ou can find a kit for these on Ebay for $75, gain I will most likely do this over the winter if it doesn't sell.
    • I have had it on the road at highway speeds and it handles fine (for a vehicle it's age). I have, t slower speeds, it large bumps that have caused a lot of front end shaking. I believe this is due to the worn out tie rods. It also doesn't currently have any steering stabilizer installed.
  • The fuel sending unit/gauge needs to be adjusted. It shows full WAY to long.
  • I have the windshield wiper motors but they aren't installed. I just need new blades and to wire it.
  • I would replace the 4th gear synchro for smoother shifting into 4th. (I would personally just buy a rebuild kit on Ebay for $89 and do it over the winter)
  • Windshield is fine but very scratched. I would probably ultimately take it to a glass shop and have them cut a new one for it.
