Description for Willys Station Wagon 1947
Reserve is well below "Buy it Now" price!
I really need to sell, o my reserve is well below market!. Make me a decent offer... I love this car, ut promised to sell one of the other cars when I bought it! That was 3 years ago. I couldn't part with the others. I'm selling at my loss, ut your gain
Drive as-is, estore or modernize!.I drive it locally all the time. Lots of waves and thumbs-up.Always parked in my garage or carport. Grandkids like the horn! Clear Washington title. Permanent 1947 plate. (If you are out-of-state, 'm keeping the 1947 Washington plate.) The wagon is 68 years old and still drives and stops. There are relatively few 2WD's around. No 4WD in '46 or '47. Not many were made and lots of those were converted to 4WD.
MECHANICAL: All original except paint, heels and new tires. I have the original wheels but only one hubcap. 2WD. Optional Overdrive. 3-speed on the column. Willys "Go Devil" F-Head engine. (I don't know why they called it "go-devil", t doesn't go so fast!) Good at 50mph. New plugs, ires and condenser. The engine is very clean. Brakes, lutch and transmission all function well. Parking brake works. After market turn signals. Wiper cable rusty so I'm soaking it for now.
BODY: Very straight. It still has the original really cool HARD to find grille.Solid, ust-free floors, rame and underneath. Hood opens, loses and latches. Sliding passenger windows. Fold down tailgate. Windows function. I have the arm rests. Newer tinted windows. I have most replacement windows, ut not tinted. Previous "injury" to driver's side rear wheel well.
INTERIOR: It's plain as you may know. Original wood door panels, ush-button openers and 2nd row seats. Original wood rails in great shape. "Banjo Style" steering wheel and turned-metal gauge cluster. The original headliner is in - though dingy, t doesn't sag. The Willys Wagons are pretty simple as you may know. Original wood door panels, ush-button openers and 1st and 2nd row seats. For decent price, will include another set of seat frames.
HISTORY: Described by many as the world's first SUV. One of Willy's most successful post-World War II models. May have been used as a rural school district vehicle - as many were. "School Bus Yellow" shows through where paint is peeling. You can decide for yourself.
So... I'm motivated to sell. Feel free to contact me with any questions. It's for sale locally as well. I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells locally. Don't miss this or you may regret it as much as I already do for letting it go!
