Description for Willys Coupe 1941
You are looking at a real STEEL Willys coupe! The car is a 1938 body with a '41 fiberglass one piece front end. What I know from the previous owner is that this car spent about 30 years in an Arizona creek bed...on its roof. The rear roof was crushed and stretched beyond the point of bringing it back, s was the top of the split window. The previous owner gave me the pieces to save the roof and basically save the car. As you can see by the pictures, he roof pieces and rear split window piece are all in. The hammering, ollying, utting and welding are all done on the roof and it just needs grinder work. The lower body needs patch work in the typical spots (doglegs, ear trunk floor, tc). What is amazing is how good the floor is after it spent all of those years on its roof! I have two rear steel fenders for it, nd they need attention but are totally workable. There are two deck lids, ne steel on that needs quite a bit of work, nd one heavy fiberglass one. The package tray is still in the car! The frame is unmodified with the exception of a new front crossmember. We put a new Speedway tube straight axle in the front of it a few years ago, long with the springs, ie rod, nd new Chevy spindles. It has a Ford 9" in back out of a '66 Ford F100. I didn't move the rear spring perches to center the axle in the wheel wells. I have the original dashboard and it needs work (double glove boxes!). I have extras for this as well...original '41 headlight buckets, ransmission hump, runk hinges, indow regulators, he rear split window inner trim pieces, oor handles, tc. The doors started their lives as 4 door doors and have begun their journey to becoming coupe doors...they just need to be finished. The car is titled in Wisconsin as a 1938 Willys coupe and is clear. I own and run a hot rod shop and would be interested in completing the build of this car for the buyer for added cost, o I would like to leave that option open to anyone interested in the car. I can email more pictures if you would like and I am here to answer any questions you may have about it. Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding!Coop
