Description for Willys CJ-5 1955

All original cj5. The 1955 model year was the first for the cj-5 jeep although the body style was changed on a previous military model. No modifications or customizing of the body. All original engine and running gear. Fuel pump was changed to electric style by previous owner. The original fuel pump is in place but I do not know if it works. Two heaters. One works better that the other. Vacuum wiper works but slow. Very low miles on new tires. Spare tire included. Lights work. Turn signals need some work. Clutch works great. All new brake wheel cylinders this year. All gears are smooth. This jeep does not jump out of 2nd gear on down shift. That's amazing ! If you want to negotiate rough terrain or mud and do it warm and dry and QUIETthen this jeep is perfect. Better and quieterthan a side-by-side ATV costing twice as much !

This jeep has not been altered, modified, cut up and customized like 90% of the classic jeeps. It is all original and just waiting for someone to add their personal touch and make it the perfect deer lease jeep or total restoration candidate. Engine block heater is in place withwirebut don't know if it works.

This jeep was in a barn in New Mexico for years and used as transportation on Elk hunts.

Koenig steel hardtop has kept this jeep in great shape. No rust in floors and under seat tool box like all jeeps this old. Even glove box works and has a solid box with latch. Doors are solid and all glass is in place. Widows work. New stainless door handles. Less than normal wear and tear for a jeep this age. Jeep is dry inside even in a heavy rain. All glass is good and unbroken. Rubberstrips around glass need some attention. Minor rust spots on rear quarters and tailgate where snow accumulated on the rear endsticking out of the barn in New Mexico.

This is a great restoration candidate. Jeeps drives good and is usable today.Perfect for a deer lease. Back seat is in place. Front seats are in great shape. Boat rack on top makes it perfect for transporting a 12' kayak to get to your favorite duck or deerhunting spot.

Most gauges work. Speedomoves butdoes not read correctly Cable is in place. Hand brake parts and cable are in place but some work needed to make it work correctly. Original CUTLASS POWER LOCKINGHUBS are in place and working properly.

Brush guard in place. Set up in place to add and electric winch. Tow bar and trailer hitchgoes with the jeep. Winch shown in photos is not included but I can include a winch for an additional fee.

Vehicle is sold as-is with no warranty. Remember, this jeep is 60 years old and needs a little TLC to keep up with its younger cousins. Cashiers check only and checkmust clear my bank before vehicle is picked up.

Deer season starts November 1 so the hunters are snatching up the good JEEPS. Don't wait too long !
