Description for Willys MB Jeep 1945
Original 1945 Willys MB military Jeep from the state of Arizona until coming to Florida in late 2009. I bought this jeep from Tucson Arizona the owner said it came from a auction by the United States Military many years earlier that a plane sent to the grave yard in Tuscon had this jeep in it and was unloaded and auctioned in the 1970's and bought by his uncle who put street legal lights on it and used it for many years. When I bought it the jeep was rust free but had dents, painted yellow and had a over head valve 4 cylinder engine in it with a hole cut in the hood for car and air filter. I had the body sandblasted and removed from the frame. I found the correct period engine Deud style, fuel filter, pumps, air filter, also installed new springs and shackles along with shocks, NOS parts replacing rear black out lights and many other hard to find items like 5 combat two piece original wheels, new tires and tubes and flaps. There are a few after market repo parts like the hood, glove box door and dash lights. It hasno fuel tank or voltage regulator. Does come with wiring harness from CJ2 along with a spare engine with trans and transfer case engine . The motor in thejeep has new head gasket was a running motor I was told when I bought it. I removed head checked it and it looked good so never rebuilt or started it again. Front bumper is after market. The original gauges and most parts needed but will require more parts to finish what you see is what you get. Body shop did weld in a few patch panels in the floor and repaired body dents etc. This will make a nice driver for someone. Most all of the hard work is done but there is still much work to be done and parts to buy to finish it completely. Right now it has unlocking hubs but included is original style front hubs. This unit has a tag as seen in photos from Japan stating America Occupation of Japan which was founded in 1945 and dissolved in April 28 1952. From the tag date I feel strongly this jeep was active in that occupation of Japan during that time but I will leave that as only my opinion. The Willys MB much like the Ford GPW was the work horse of WWII and most of this one is true original military unit right from 1945.
