Description for Willys MB 1944
Note: This Jeep does not have a title or a serial number. The engine has a serial number but its not correct for this jeep. It will be sold with a bill of sale only. Don't read any further if you can't deal with buying it on a bill of sale only. Getting a title is possible through a title company or through the DMV in your state once you purchase it depending on the laws in your state.Take a look at this beautiful 1944 Willys MB. (Dated by date stamp on axle 6-8-44)
This started out as a rescue of many disassembled Willys parts from a deceased collector in central New Jersey in 2014. The frame was too far gone and missing its serial #plate anyway, so I opted for a new frame from DL Bensingers.
It underwent a frame off rebuild by me, who has rebuilt over thirty Willys and had many jeeps sold successfully on e-Bay.
Everything has been gone through on this jeep and everything has been cleaned, repainted, or replaced with original, NOS or reproduction parts.
Chassis and Drive Train: New frame, new shackles, new springs, new shocks, new axle bumpers, rebuilt u-joints, new clutch, new pressure plate and bearing, re-surfaced flywheel, Rebuilt correct T-84 tranny with new synchros, new seals bearings on tranny and transfer case which was drained and cleaned and new fluids, new e-brake pads and hardware, new e-brake cable, new engine/tranny mounts, new brake lines and hoses, new master cylinder, new tie rod ends, rebuilt steering box and drag link, original steering wheel, new bumperettes, repro. pintle hook. 4 new 6x16 NDT tires and tubes and one "period correct" spare tire on five new repro combat split rims.
Engine: Professionally rebuilt early CJ2A civilian L-134 engine by Sigafoos machine shop in PA. Runs real strong and smooth, no smoke, no noises, no misses, correct professionally rebuilt Carter W-O Carb, civilian fuel pump, rebuilt intake manifold, new exhaust manifold and new gaskets, new 12 volt PowerGen alternator that looks like a period correct generator, new 12 volt civilian wiring, new battery, new hoses, new fan belt, new 180 degree t-stat, new temp. gauge, new ammeter, new fuel gauge and sender, new fuel lines, new oil pressure gauge, new distributor, plugs and wires. Reproduction brand new radiator. New exhaust system. Repro Oakes style oil bath air cleaner.
Body: Bensinger MB Master Body kit; new tub, fenders, grille, windshield including new glass, hood, seats, new fuel tank, new top bows, brackets and hardware, new canvas (Top is and seats are MD Juan canvas), repro. shovel and axe, period correct 1945 jerry can, repro. new 12V headlights and tail-lights (modified taillights for 12V), repro data plates, with no numbers stamped on them. Correct felt gaskets and locks on glove and tool boxes. Reproduction rifle mount. Two bolt spare tire mount. Repro. correct size Hemp tow rope with loops at each end. included as seen in photos.
Misc: All new electric, all new gauges (except speedometer - originals work fine), all lights, all new switches work properly, but for civilian use, single pull light switch - first pull is black-out, second pull is headlight/tail light.
Mileage (11,913) is not accurate, but regardless of odometer reading this Jeep is better than motor pool, almost like it just came off the assembly line. Hood numbers painted in correct blue drab. Number taken from vintage military photograph of "blown up" jeep.
The only thing left to do with this vehicle is have fun driving it and possibly outfit it with some WW II Era paraphernalia.
Vehicle is sold as is where is. No sales outside of USA. Shipping costs are the responsibility of buyer. Will work with buyer to arrange shipping.
Deposit via Paypal, balance in cash or Paypal upon pick up or prior to shipping. No checks, no trades, no scams.
The "Buy It Now" price is realistic price, the reserve price is very close to that. This Jeep will sell as have all my previous restorations, don't let it slip away. A great running "brand new" MB - these are getting harder and harder to find.
