Description for Willys 1947

Original1947 Willys Truck, first year of production with rare Timken Clamshell Rear Axle, an option offered from 1947-1951. Spare no expense frame off restoration performed by The Jeep Farm here in AZ (look them up if you want a specialist or have questions on my truck). We started with a running driving 1947 Willys which had a quickie paint job masking a lot of rust so an almost rust free 1948 was sourced and used as a donor vehicle to make sure all the parts are metal and authentic Willy's. Unfortunatelyneither bed floor was salvageableso that piece is a reproduction, but it's all steel and looks great. Every nut and bolt has been repaired, resealed, rebuilt, cad plated, painted or replaced. I have driven it maybe 5 miles since completion, most of which was last weekend and it started right up, no misses, stops straight, and generally I was very comfortable on the road.
The interior was restored by Jeep Farm, with a wool Pendleton blanket for the seats rather than what would have been a thick vinyl. It's comfortable and not temperaturesensitive like vinyl. The instrumentson both the original car and donor were wrong and I acknowledgethe the instruments in the car are authentic Willys but from a newer truck, not sure what year, but they do work well and were are restored here locally. Any original switches which could be saved and reconditioned were, reproductionssourced as needed from Kaiser Willy's, a reputable vendor. The door thresholds are unobtanium, the ones in the car are cut from a Jeep Wagoneer. All glass and weather strip is new. Doors shut well, with a nice thunk. Door panels and headliner all new with authentic textures.
The engine is an original "Go Devil" with a 12 volt conversion. The air cleaner is a rare heavy duty version and as noted the carb is original but the throttle linkage cannot be found so a work around is in place now, we didn't want to buy a repro carb. The choke works as it should, and the car starts immediately. BTW I run all my old cars on 100 octane, it never goes bad. Comfortably gains speed, and sounds like a proper work truck. Steering will keep your forearms fit.
The body is likely much nicer than new and the paint has been wet sanded and detailed to a deep shine using ceramic coatings, it's not just the sunlight.
I really don't want to sell this, but I have too many cars and space constraints are causing me to make some tough decisions. Would love to sell this an enthusiast who appreciates it as much as I do, as I tell people it's the truck version of Levi's, pure Americana.
