Description for Willys Jeepster 1949
1949 Willys Overland Jeepster 6 cylinderThis complete original 1949 Jeepster was found 9 years ago with 10 other Jeepsters that had been in a warehouse for 35 years. Only 654 Jeepsters were built in 1949 with the Six Cylinder engine. This is the 119th Jeepster I have restored and by far the best I have ever done. I would leave now and drive it anywhere with confidence. No expense was spared in this concours quality frame-off restoration. The interior is new and the top is high-grade canvas as well as the top boot and side curtains. The gauges have been restored and calibrated. The entire car was stripped to bare metal and undercoated. The body has 3 coats of primer then 2 coats of Dupont base coat and 3 coats of high-quality Dupont clear coat that was cut and buffed between coats. It is Pearl white with gray Metallic belt line. The frame is all undercoated. The L-161 engine was blueprinted and balanced and the original 3 speed, with overdrive, was completely rebuilt. Nothing was compromised during this restoration, right down to every nut and bolt. It has new Coker tires, new hub caps, beauty rings, and wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake lines, shocks, battery, fuel pump, clutch, pressure plate, plugs and wires, main bearings, rebuilt crank, rod bearings, pistons, rings, cam, valves, guides, valve seats, gaskets and seals, and all new exhaust. It runs great. It will do 70 MPH and all the chrome is show quality and complete. The steering wheel is new, as well as all of the glass and rubber. The wiring is completely new and color-coded to factory specs. Built with pride by Jeepster Jim of Florida.
