Description

1956 Chevy Taskmaster Pickup for sale. This is one sharp. head-turning. bright red truck. If you don’t want people staring at you. staring at the truck. and wanting to look it over and talk about it-----then don’t buy it. Let me begin by saying we are a pre-owned vehicle dealer. but do not specialize in antique or classic vehicles. and we don’t claim to be experts about them. You can check out our website at www. piggent. com to find out more about us. We will try to describe the truck as accurately. and thoroughly as possible. and show what we are talking about with numerous pictures. We have in excess of $22. 00 invested in the truck. and have all receipts to document work performed. and parts installed. In my non-expert opinion. the truck is over 90% restored. It is in very good daily-driver condition now. It only needs some cosmetics to be a “weekend car-show quality truck. ” We don’t know the history of this truck prior to 8-15-12 when we purchased it. We were told it came out of Selma. Alabama. It is obviously a solid southern truck. When we got it. it was in primer. with chrome wheels and baby moon hubcaps. Everything on the vehicle was removed except the cab was left on the frame. The engine and transmission were pulled. All body parts except the cab were removed. The frame was sandblasted and painted as needed. Surface rust was the only reason for sandblasting. The truck was then painted bright red. The paint job is not perfect. but is a very slick. high-quality paint job. I would classify the paint and body work as much higher quality than expected for a daily driver. The truck has the factory 235 cubic inch in-line 6-cylinder. and has been rebuilt from top to bottom by a local machine shop that is highly reputable. and does very good work. The engine has less than 300 miles since the rebuild and runs like a sewing machine. The carburetor has just been rebuilt. When the engine was replaced a new clutch kit was installed. Belts. hoses. thermostat. radiator core. plugs. wires. distributor cap. rotor button. points. coil. water pump. tie rod ends. inner tie rod. and emergency brake cable are all brand new. A remanufactured steering column was just installed. The bill for the engine rebuild and other mechanic work was $6. 19. 90. The wheels and tires are brand new with less than 300 miles. The seat is newly recovered. and the colors complement the red paint. The windshield is new. and the rest of the glass is in very good condition. The bed floor is new. The side walls of the bed and floor were covered with rhino-liner. but that was not done for protection. and not to cover rust. There is minor rust in the floor board which pictures will show. The truck is a 56 model. and it drives just like a 1956 Chevy with an in-line six. and no power steering or power brakes. The steering still has a little play. but the truck drives out straight and smooth. just like it should. If you want an extremely good-looking. solid truck that you can drive and enjoy now. this is it. Nothing more is needed. If you want it near-perfect. we will now describe the items that make it 90% complete. not 100%. There have been some very minor chips and scratches put in the paint during the course of the mechanic work. They have been touched up and the scratches buffed out and are barely noticeable. The new seat suffered a small scuff in the side also during the mechanic work. The temperature gage just quit working. All other gages work. As you will see in the pics. chrome has not been re-done. but is in fair shape. An aftermarket radio has been installed. The dash had already been slightly modified for an after-market radio when we got it. The interior had been re-painted by the previous owner. and matches the exterior of the truck. To make the interior look as good as the outside. it needs to be sanded and re-painted. The vent window latch on the driver side is missing. The red velour headliner is not perfect. The sun visors are missing. The glove box liner is missing. The wipers work. but are still the vacuum type. The steering wheel has been painted red. and is in normal condition for a 56 model. The horn button is new. but the horn does not work. That list sounds like a lot to fix. but if you add the items up. it doesn’t amount to much money. or much work to make this truck 100%. The hundreds of hours of labor. and thousands of dollars have already been invested. It just needs a last few finishing touches. Email with any questions. and bid to own it if you want a really nice 56 Chevy truck. but don’t want to spend $35-40K for one that is absolutely perfect. We have listed over 20 pictures of the truck here on eBay. but to see over 200 detailed pictures of the entire truck. including undercarriage and motor compartments. visit:http://s1383. photobucket. com/user/Pigg381/library/1956%20Chevrolet%20Pickup%20TruckEmail jerrod@piggenterprises. com with any questions.
