Description

1979 Ferrari 308 GTB-- it's one of the more desired 308's since it's a'carburetor hard top' car. 1979 was the last year Ferrari offered carbureted cars with their distinctive burbling sound and higher horsepower than fuel injection cars.Production numbers: 308 GTB (Steel) 1977 — 1980 2,185 cars (s/n# 20805 — 34329)Chassis # 29741I bought this car from dealership in NY last with idea of restoring it. The engine is not turning over by hand. I believe water (under the previous owner) ran down thru the vents of the rear deck lid which caused corrosion in cylinder wall area so it needs to be rebuilt or swapped. I've been debating about selling it recently since the machinist i was going to use is pretty far out on engine builds. Neat car to have restored--really prefer the styling lines of the GTB hardtop vs the GTS removable top. No dents at all, but does need a total paint job.I cleaned up the interior with new GTB floor matts and have the original seats that I bought new covers for, but i didn't do a good job with the covers so I installed some new racing seats. See pictured attached-- the old seats and covers will be included. The steering wheel could use restoration along with new stitching above the left side of dashboard above odometer. The main dashboard leather, side interior panels, and headliner are all in good shape. The glass is all good as well.New battery included and electrical seems ok. Radio and lights power on. Sport exhaust-- looks like the $3k Larini exhaust muffler.Pictures include past work done on the car yrs ago.I removed the rear bumper, exhaust, hoses, axels and unbolted the engine so the engine is ready to be pulled out. I bought a foldable engine crane/stand which i would include with the car. The exhaust is a sports exhaust looks to be in good shape.Below is link to extra pictures from the car dealership i bought the car from last yr.https://www.flickr.com/photos/gullwingmotorcar/albums/72177720308886520/
