For sale 1990 Land Rover 110 Defender, 2.5L 4-cylinder diesel engine, all-wheel drive, 5-speed manual transmission with selectable high / low ratios, ex-British military recently imported from UK.
Although this is a UK import it is a factory left-hand drive vehicle and has obviously been in service outside of the UK in a hot dry climate. The frame, bulkhead, doors (the usual Land Rover corrosion areas) are all in exceptional rust free original condition. It is rare to find such an original Land Rover in such amazing condition, it truly is exceptional. The vehicle has a recorded mileage of only 26,000 km, that's only 16,000 miles! The speedometer is calibrated in km/h.
The vehicle served in the military as a radio vehicle and still has the 24V DC generator, battery racks, antenna mounts, switches and control boxes. All of this equipment is disconnected but very cool stuff!
Interior is basic military spec but is all original, clean and tidy.
The aluminum bodywork is very straight, but has been repainted several times by the military with a brush / roller and is flaking off in a few spots. Not the best paint job but still presentable with good patina.
Steering, brakes, suspension, clutch, gears, all work as they should. Vehicle drives nice and tight with no mechanical issues. Engine smokes a bit on cold start-up (typical for this old style diesel engine) but fully clears when warmed up. A brand new battery and alternator have just been fitted.
You can enjoy this vehicle as is or it has the perfect bones for transformation into something special. Being left-hand drive and rust free it is the perfect platform for a very special Defender build to your own specification.
The vehicle is Registered and Titled in Texas. I have clear Texas Title in my name and copies of the military release paperwork and customs release paperwork.
