Maserati has confirmed that on November 7, 1961 they delivered a black3500GT to one of the preeminent Italian race teams, Scuderia Serenissima.It is believed that the car wasused by the team for road transportationto and from events during thebusy 1962 season. The car on offer is that very car Maserati 3500GT chassis AM101.1902This car representsan opportunity to own and restore a car thatwas there during the great battles of the early 1960’s.
History: In 1961 Count Volpi de Misurata (aged 24 yrs) established ScuderiaSerenissima. Through the 1960s the team raced Ferrari’s, Maserati,Lotus, DeTomaso and others. In the 1961 season they raced LeMans,Nurburgring, Targa Florio, Monaco, Spa Francorchamps, Reims, Monaco.A busy year! The joys of being young, talented and wealthy. At about this time the Ferrari 250 Breadvan (2819GT) was being finishedby Giotto Bizzarrini for use by Serenissima in the 1962 season alongside their Maserati Birdcage (63.004).
This car was there. Driven by the best. To and from the best tracks in Europe and England.If only it could talk, what tales it would tell!
Little is known of the car after it left Serenissima untilit turned up in California in1977. It remained in the same family ownership from 1977 to 2016.
Current condition: The car is in need of restoration. Original interior. Nice bodyand paint. It might be advisable to revert the bodywork to the original blackcolor, but that is for the new owner to decide. The car acquired anAmerican V8. It currently has a correct 3500GT engine in it. Originally itwould have been injected. The current engine has triple weber carburetors.The car has it’s correct 5 speed gearbox.

Original leather insalvageablecondition.

Comes with it's full set of gauges, chrome and glass.

Once restored this car will be welcomed at all major Concours,Rallies and any gathering of Scuderia Serenissima cars.
