Packard Super Eight Deluxe

1949 Packard Super Eight Deluxe. This is a 23rd series model 2372. This is quite a rare model that has the Custom Eight style front and rear grills, but the smaller 327 engine and Super Eight interior. Only about 425 of these were produced for 1949, with most of the rest being 1950 models. 1289 in total for the 23rd series. This car is in un restored original condition including the paint and interior. The engine however was replaced at some point a long time ago as it now has a 288 engine but has a head from a 1953 327 on it. The engine runs but smokes a good bit and i think I can hear a slight rod knock. I will be including a good 1953 327 5 main hydraulic lifter engine and parts with the car. This car is driveable and has a very good clutch, the transmission is a 3 speed manual with a R11 Borg Warner overdrive that works and shifts well. The steering is tight and the brakes feel good including the parking brake. The glass is mostly good with some slight delamination in places. The rear axle is good and has recently had new bearings and seals, and the oil flushed and changed. The body is solid mostly but dose have the typical rust in the front floor corners and the trunk floor. The rocker panels are also rusted as well but new panels for all of the above mentioned can be obtained. I have all of the trim that is not shown on the car and some extra parts as well. Ive owned this car for about 11 years and the vehicle has a clean title and is currently registered and insured in my name. This is a great candidate for restoration.

I did mention that the vehicle is driveable but I would seriously recommend trailering it for long distance shipping. The mileage shown is not actual and is probably rolled over once.
