Description
1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10th Anniversary, 23k Original Miles, 400 4-SpeedPrior to myself the current owner. This car was owned by the previous and last titled in 2000, with 19,032 actual miles. It spent the last 25 years as a garage queen.I purchased the car in 2023, and decided, old survivor cars are great. But the fun wears off from the lack luster sound system, climate controls, sloppy handling. So, keeping it's Trans Am heritage I decided to combine it with the modern improvements available. And this was done with the goal of not destroying it's Pontiac soul. With that in mind keeping the matching numbers Pontiac 400 motor, 4 speed transmission and posi rear end in place was a must.Opened up with Ram air resto Ultimate dual exhaust, larger jets, professional carb tuning and Ram air resto factory headers the engine came alive. The change was amazing, it was like a new engine was installed. This car purrs, the engine runs and sounds perfect.Under the hood a big 4 wiring kit and 175-amp Mechman alternator keeps the juice flowing to power the Entropy dual core, dual fan radiator pulling a ridiculous 5600 cfm. Keeping it cool, an Edelbrock high flow water pump and a March serpentine pulley system. A high torque starter was added to get the motor turning. I wanted this to be a daily summer traffic driving capable vehicle. This motor can barely get to 180-190 degrees. This is confirmed with a infrared thermometer on multiple days.A Gen 5 Vintage air setup installed. Mating all the new electronics, M&H engine wiring harness and lamp wiring harness. With the T-tops off Upgrading the OEM sound system was mandatory. A Sony Dsx-Gs80 receiver connects to Sirius/XM tuner, JL Audio JD 400/4 amp, JL Audio subwoofer, Rockford coaxial 6x9's and (2) Kenwood 3.5's in the dash. The entire suspension has been replaced with Pro Touring F-Body components:Consisting of their 1LE front handling kit: Tubular control arms, PTFB sway bar, GT Pro suspension kit: (4) Viking double adjustable shocks, front coil & rear leaf springs, Big twin 1LE Caliper kit: Wilwood calipers, PTFB spindles. Also added adjustable rear sway bar, bolt in sub frame connectors, solid body bushings, Pro G-braces, Turn One steering box & rag joint. The car still sports the factory rear disk brake calipers plus slotted and drilled rotors. This car has zero body roll, it handles like a C-8 corvette while maintaining a reasonable level of comfort. The car rides on aluminum Snowflake Pro Billet wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires. The interior, new factory repro insulation topped off with a layer Second Skin Luxury Liner (no adhesive lifts off), ACC carpeting, Corbeau LG1 wide Black leather seats. Second Gen power window relay and switch.I spared no expense, but again I kept its soul. Let's just say this is what is referred to as a day one car.I have every part removed from the car. This car could be returned to stock in a matter of days if desired.Or you can swap out the custom rimes with the factory ones and no one would know what an extra sweet T/A you're driving.Complete list and receipts for everything that was done to the car. Over $40k invested, car runs and drives perfect,All work professionally done by a reputable local speed shop.
