Description for Alfa Romeo Other 1965

I amsellingthis Giulia SS project car that I bought in 2009. It was mostly together with some disassembly started in the engine bay when I purchased it. It had been off the road in dry storage since about 1972. I have the California black plate w/ a 1971 sticker that came with the car. Since 2009 I slowly embarked on a total disassembly, ntending to do a full nut-and-bolt restoration. Unfortunately, ife circumstances have made that dream impractical/impossible, o I mustsell.
The s/n of this car is AR381357. According to Marco Fazio at Alfa, t was completed in February 1965 and was imported into the US through New Jersey. I estimate that this car is about 30 cars from the end of SS production. The reason I purchased this car as a restoration candidate is that is remarkably rust-free. The only trouble spot for rust I haveencountered is at the bottom of the A-pillar on the driver's side. I have removed nearly all of the undercoating and haveencountered nothing but good metal. The restoration thread I started can be found, long with many progress photos, ere on the Alfa BB:
well, t appears that ebay is blocking this very helpful link. Go to the Alfa BB website and search for "381357" and there will be a thread w/ this s/n in the title.
The car is very complete. It will need a new gas tank as the old one had not been drained and was completely rotten (see the BB thread). Also, ome of the accelerator linkage is missing as is the glass bowl fuel filter assembly just before the carbs. The only items I have not removed from the shell are the doors, lass, teering rack, aster cylinder assembly, ain harness, eadliner, nd the dash instruments/switches/wiring and ventilation. All the chrome is present as are all the original carpets and upholstery/seats. The entire exhaust system, ncluding the veloce headers, s present. I have had some vapor blasting done on engine components. The car came to me with four Fergat wheels. Since my theory is that the car was only driven for the first 6 years of its life, verything is in pretty decent shape for a 50 year-old car. I also have two binders of the SS owner's manual and parts manual, ncluding the CD-ROM that I printed them from. I purchased newly-manufactured "Carrozerria Bertone" sill plates that a member of the Alfa BB made a limited number of as well as the curved plexi bug deflector that another SS owner manufactured; both SS parts that are nearly impossible to find in good condition. The veloce engine stamping is AR00121-01263.
The car is in Santa Fe, ew Mexico. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and I am more than happy to help the buyer pack it onto a truck. The shell is on a wood frame dolly with 2x4 "outriggers" that I added when I put it in the back of a Penske rental truck to move it from Virginia to NM several years ago. This is a great project for a knowledgable Alfa person or shop. I am happy to answer any questions.
