Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1973
Per the Alfa Romeo factory. chassis no. AR1842820 (Type 105. 91) was manufactured June 12th. 1973 and sold/delivered in Mestre. Venice. Italy on June 20th. 1973. I was lucky to find and purchase this Spider 1300 from the US serviceman who owned it in Sicily 14 years ago and brought it back to the States. Those 14 years ago there were roughly 23K km on the odometer (believed to be original). with around 32K km showing now. I was told a retired Alfa Romeo factory coach builder residing in Naples repainted the exterior. leaving the original paint in the engine bay and trunk. The body is arrow straight with great gaps and the doors shut with startling ease/precision. No rust and no accidents with original windshield/glass and an Italian supplied OEM quality top that shows like new. European 1300 S2 Spiders came from the factory with the Duetto style dash. door handles and no center console. What you are viewing in the photos is an original vinyl/floor mat interior with unusual European carpets and wood steering wheel/shifter/hand brake added. Gauges and accessories work with the exception of the headlights due to a broken headlight switch (I won't drive at night and never in rain). I will be including the bill of sale from Italy. owners manual. tool kit. and some records (as seen in pics). 5 years ago the 1300cc engine was upgraded to a fresh 2. 0L RJR motor with high performance cams. header. and 45 DOC Webers. This motor fires up. comes to an even idle. and provides the Spider with very quick acceleration. breaking the tires loose from a standstill if you're not careful. The transmission was freshened at the same time and an upgraded Porsche style Sachs clutch added. To balance all that additional power. the suspension was upgraded with Bilstein sport shocks along with Brembo brakes. I just added a set a 15" Alfaholics wrapped in sticky BF Goodrich rubber. The winning bidder has the option of substituting the set of 14" Steel wheels that were on the vehicle when I bought it in place of the 15" Alfaholics. and subtracting $1200. 00 from the purchase price. My Spider is available for viewing and pre-purchase inspection. please view/inspect before bidding. Those bidders with zero feedback need to contact me first or your bid will be deleted. Being sold As Is. with no warranty. Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping costs and shipping arrangements. $1. 00. 00 due via Paypal within 24 hours and the balance is to be paid in 5 working days via wire. cash or cash equivalent. Phone John at 386. 690. 4215 with any questions or to schedule a time to view. Located in New Smyrna Beach. FL.
