A legindary British icon. this left hand drive. nbsp;1956 Austin FX3-D. better known as a London taxi or black taxi. has a gold seal BMC 2. 2L Diesel engine and 4-speed manual gearbox. I originally purchased this FX3 for a full restoration and driving enjoyment. however. life has taken precedence and I have decided to part company. The car came complete with working taxi meter. amber glass for roof sign "FOR HIRE". original gauges. license plate. glass Lucas tail lamps. spare rim. sliding glass devisions. Jackall hydraulic jack system. etc. In addition. a workshop manual will also be included for your reference. The car has been stripped of nearly all paint. The interior has been partially stripped of a very poor redo before my taking ownership. The purchaser will receive a new hood mascot. re-chromed bumpers. quarter light rubber glass seals and new wiring harness to be installed. The car does have rust. but over all is an exceptional example based on my going through the car. The body has also been partially dismanteled in preparation for the off frame restoration. The car was last run and driven 4 years ago and with no wiring currently installed I do not know the operational abilities at this point. This FX3 will either be a great historical project car to restore or a great spares car to keep your current taxi on the road for years to come. Several items to know. right rear fender is dented. front windshield is cracked (flat glass however for easy replacement) and left headlight trim bezel missing. Parts can be sourced however by a U. Dashboard gauges etc. . have since been removed. The purchaser will be responsible for removal and or towing as vehicle is not driveable.
