Description for BMW 3-Series 1993
For Sale: 1993 BMW 325is Coupe with Chevrolet LS 5.7 and T56 6-speed ManualI'll do my best to be as descriptive and thorough as possible, but if I overlooked something or you have any specific questions or photo requests, please don't hesitate to contact me.
This is a 93 325is Coupe with an LS swap and a T56 manual transmission. It is set up for road racing. I have over 1000 man-hours in this build and more money than I'm willing to admit. Trust me; it'sa lot. Everything described below has less than 200 total miles on it. I'll start with the good stuff:
- The engine started as an aluminum block LM4 that was bored to 3.898 which is the factory LS1 size.
- The engine was built by a Local Pro racing shop and was fit with CP LS1 Pistons, H-beam rods, and race bearings.
- The Camshaft is a Howard Cams Hydraulic Roller (Part number 190375-12)
- The heads are 243 Heads from a Corvette upgraded with BTR valve springs
- LS2 Intake, LS2 Throttle Body, F-body power steering pump, GTO Alternator
- Custom Hydraulic Lines for GM power steering to BMW steering rack
- New F-body Oil Pan with Improved Racing Oil Baffle Kit
- Improved Racing Oil Filter Adapter with remote filter
- Oil Cooler with stainless braided hoses and AN fittings
- 2 Quart Accusump with the Electric Valve for both Pre-Oiling and for protection from oil pressure drop
- MellingHigh Volume Oil Pump
- New MSD Plug Wires
- Dyno tuned E40 ECM (see video for a pull)
- CX Racing Engine andTransmission mounts
- CX Racing Long Tube headers and Y-pipe
- Custom Exhaust with Magnaflow Race Muffler
- Aluminum e36 Radiator with external pressure tank and overflow tank and electric fan
- Heater coreblock off
- T56 Six Speed Manual with Pro 5.0 Shifter
- Custom two-piece driveshaft with new carrier bearing
- JTR adapter flange for 1310 U-joint to BMW differential
- Modified Corvette drive by wire accelerator pedal
- Car has winter package so it came with Limited Slip Differential with 3.91 gear ratio
- Bilstein shocks and lowering springs (can't remember brand)
- All newpolyurethane bushingsthroughout
- All new ball joints
- New front control arms
- New tie rod ends
- Front and rear subframereinforcement brackets
- Chassis subframe plates welded by pro welder along with RTAB reinforcement brackets. No signs of damage prior to adding thereinforcement plates. Car was owned byanolder lady.
- ABS delete
- Tilton rear brake proportioning valve.
- E46 330i front calipers and vented rotors
- E46 325/328 rear calipers and vented rotors
- E90 17" wheels with 235/40r17 tires and two spares (painted black)
- Custom minimized electrical system with custom fuse box and terminal panel for easy wiring removal
- Factory BMW fuel tank with second fuel pump modification and 255 LPH primary feed pump. Corvette filter regulator and AN fuel lines.
- Sunroofcartridge delete with Fiberglass insert
- Manual outside mirrors (M3 style)
- 6 point roll cage with firewall extensions
- Kirkey full containment seat on Sparco slides mounted to customfloor mount
- IOPort back brace
- New G-force 6 point harness
- Fireproof Shift boot
- Full firesuppression system mounted to rear seatbelt anchor points with 6 nozzles (3 in car and 3 under hood). Fire system has remote passenger side pull cablein addition to dashboard cable
- Main battery disconnect
- Custom BMW dashboard modified with Autometer Elite gauges. Autometer Elite gauges are programmable to change color depending on certain conditions. For instance, whenparameters are within range, I have the gauge programmed green. Too hot, or oil pressure too low....red. Too cold...blue. At a certain point further outside a programmed range, they flash. The tachometer is programmed to change to yellow approaching redline and red at redline. It is hard to miss. Thesecan all be programmed to your liking.
- Custom rocker switch panel to control ignition, accusump, fuel pumps, lights, wipers, etc...
- Second fire extinguisher mounted on passenger floorboard
- 2 gallon hydration system
- 4 USB ports mounted on passenger side rear for Go-Pro, GPS antenna, phone, etc...These are wired before the disconnect switch so your devices stay powered.
- Lexan rear side windows
- Lexan door windows designed just for trailering. They are held in by pins.
- NACA vent and hose in rear drivers side window.
- Quick release Rogue Engineering steering wheel hub.
- Steering wheel buttons wired for Push to talk for radios.
- Racing Convex mirror
- Removable Hella 500 lights for night racing. Lights and mount are bolted to OEM bumper mount. 2 plugs and 2 bolts and it is off.
- The T56 transmission has worn out 3rd gear synchros. If I was keeping the car, I'd probably rebuild the transmission.
- The reverse lockout solenoid is not getting power. That means that in order to get it into reverse, you have to push a bit harder than normal in order to overpower the little spring.
- The reverse lights were never hooked up. The connections are all there, but the actual reverse lights were never wired to the reverse sensor on the transmission. Race cars don't need reverse lights.
- Lastly, the paint. It isn't good. The car was originally green. I wanted something a bit brighter forvisibility on the track so it was scuffed, primed, and then painted the single stage BMW Dakar Yellow. It was the middle of Houston summer and we did it outside. It came out more of a metallic satin which looked awesome (by accident). It looked good for awhile, but ultimately it gota lot of chips, and greasemarks and overspray from finishing the car. It has some areas where paint was damaged while the car was on the trailer. The ramps rubbed into the drivers side. It has a few spots where the paint was pulled off because of vinyl decals. If I was keeping it, I'd probably sand it down and throw a Maaco level paint job on it or a wrap.

That is all I can think of. This car would make a great Road Racing car with a few upgrades or a great Drift car. I'm sure people are wondering why sell it. Well it was originally setup for endurance racing and 3/4 of the team decided they would rather do other things with their free time and money. I can't justify keeping it for myself because I have too many irons in the fire and I need the garage space.
This is a no reserve auction. Do not bid unless you have the intention of buying the car if you win. Do not bid unless you have the funds available to pay for the car if you win. Do not bid unless you have the funds available to ship and/or pick up the car if you win. There is a $500 deposit due with 24 hours. It is not street legal so it will need to be put on a trailer. It has a clear Texas title. Again, don't hesitate to ask questions or request other pictures. I have hundreds of pictures and eBay will only let me post 24. Good Luck.
