Description for Buick Skylark 1969
Hello. I bought this car about 4 years ago. It had sat in someones yard for 10 years. It was outside with a few flat tires Not sure if it had been started periodactly but I put a battery in it and got it running. This shocked the seller and myself. The seller stated he rode this around Denver for quite some time and that it was quite the race car. He had it painted just before he permanently parked it here in Colorado near Westcliffe. I drove it home a mile away and it was quite zippy indeed. I put it up on jack stands and removed a huge bag of trash from it. I found 9 baseballs under the seat.About 28 inkpens and quite a few inhalers plus about $6 in loose change. I fixed a broken right side hood hinge. I put on a new water pump. I fabricated my own style front grille.I got everything working good enough but the cars engine wouldnt idle and you had to give it the footfeed to keep it running. I tore out the drooping headliner and scraped off the vynil roof material. I took out the back seat to see whats there. My theme and intention was some kind of road warrior machine that Mel Gibson would be proud to own. Winter came on and I abandoned this project. Then the mice/rats came and I set traps and fought them off. They sure like the carb area and under the seat but it seems they have given up. Okay so now its been sitting another 3 or 4 years. I tried to start it the other day and it turned over to slowly but sputtered somewhat. I am no longer interested in this car/project nor do I have the interest or time. Right now I just need some money as Ive retired on mere peanuts in a nutshell pardon my pun.The junkyard in our area wants it and will come and get it for about half Im listing it here for. Local listing has brought me dozens of phone calls but so far no lookers or takers like everybody is dead broke or something.I will add a few things more and then Im going to bed. The paints not too bad if you like cartoon green and would rub out. The brakes are great and the pedal is up to the top. 14" MAYPOP tires and I fixed that rear flat. Windshield is cracked badly mostly on passenger side. Large hole under driver seat. Assortted dents but not that many. Give or take a few mouse turds that I didnt get vacuumed up. I believe the engine and tranny are still good and the drive train. Carb needs rebuilt or replaced. Missing trunk lock. Get some better tires. Starter may need replacement.I have one key and a clear title. Oh yeah the hood is pictured open slightly do deter critters ! Buy it nuts and bring your trailer. Weather is warm here (freeky) and no snow today and gas is cheep !....and help out this 66 yr old phart ! SEE Ya...nitey nite.....DS
