Description for Buick Riviera 1971
1971 Buick Riviera GS
Boat Tail
Original GS engine and GS transmission
The 1971 Buick Riviera GS that you see in this ad is my second 1971 Riviera GS.The first Riviera I restored as a frame off restoration and it came out beautifully.I decided to restore a second one that you see in this ad.I started the restoration but for personal reasons have decided I cannot complete it.
The important thing to note about this car is that it is the first year boat tail with the vents in the trunk which is the most desirable of all boat tails.Within the 71 boat tail series is a GS which this is and it has the original GS engine – see video of engine running.
This car has the bucket seats. If you are looking for an opportunity to have a fabulous 1971 Buick Riviera GS and do not have the funds to purchase one restored, here is the chance to do it yourself.
Keep in mind it costs as much to restore a 1972 Buick Riviera or 1973 Buick Riviera that is NOT a GS and has a bench seat and has no air conditioning. When you get done restoring this car you will have one of the most valuable and desirable 1971 Buick Riviera GS package that exist that has the GS engine and transmission, bucket seats and air conditioning.
All that being said, you can see that the car is basically an easily restorable car and the engine runs – again see video.
I am selling this car at a very low reserve as it must be moved before winter comes and I do not want to finish the restoration.
Please note that I have posted a picture of what the 1971 Riviera looks like with Pearl Beige paint and the Rosewood interior…note on pictures that I disclose it is not the actual car for sale.I have included these photos for reference to see how beautiful the car would look if restored to original colors.
The car is shown with the hood off and the engine and transmission out of the car. Some trim is not currently on the car.Interior door panels are not currently on the vehicle.Gas tank is not on car.Engine is correct “TA” engine code. These items will go with sold vehicle.
Clear Illinois title in seller’s name.
The vehicle is located in the Rockford IL area.
