Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1968
There's a reason we can't keep early Camaros in stock they look great, drive well, and with a warmed-over 350 like this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS tribute, they're pretty formidable on the street. Stunning paint, a fresh interior, and lots of awards make this the one that you've been waiting for.Lemans Blue is this car's original color (code U) and the recent repaint definitely delivers in a big way. Super straight bodywork certainly helps and suggests that someone was working overtime to get this one to look this good. Great panel alignment and a factory-style hood add to the highly-detailed look, and the list of new components is as long as your arm. RS hidden headlights look especially good on the '68 cars, and black stripes embedded under the clear add an aggressive edge. Bright chrome bumpers, correct badging, and, of course, the ducktail spoiler all add up to a traditional Camaro performance look, but so much nicer than the factory ever managed. If it's shiny, it's brand new. Camaros have always offered performance-oriented interiors, and the black buckets flanking a center console make for an awesome driving experience. The interior is in good shape, with a long, long list of new components, including reproduction seat covers, correct carpets, and matching black door panels, all of which take you back to 1968. The original gauges set deep into their own round binnacles are in good condition and are joined by a set of white-faced auxiliary gauges down on the center console. And yes, that's a horseshoe shifter in the center console, making this the Camaro you'll look forward to driving every single time. There's also a trick entertainment system with a 4-inch touch screen and navigation, plus a custom armrest with built-in cup holders. The trunk is finished with spatter-finish paint and a full-sized spare that appears to be on a correct Rally wheel. The freshly rebuilt and heavily fortified 350 cubic inch V8 is the reason why this car rises above the ordinary and why it won't likely last long. Rebuilt with a few notable upgrades like Procomp aluminum heads, an upgraded camshaft, an Edelbrock carburetor on a Procomp aluminum intake manifold, plus a set of long-tube headers, it delivers a solid hit of torque whenever you nail the throttle. Aluminum valve covers give it a race-spec look and an Edelbrock open-element air cleaner dresses things up a bit. Bright Chevy Orange paint pops against the satin black engine bay and makes the bare aluminum and chrome pieces look clean and crisply detailed. The underside isn't so over-detailed that you're afraid to drive it and it makes a great background for the new Flowmaster exhaust system. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission spins a fortified 10-bolt rear end, so you don't need to worry about breaking this heavy-duty hardware, and with 2.73 gears inside, this car remains a fantastic high-speed cruiser. Those classic Rally wheels look great and carry fat 205/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear BFGoodrich rubber. With several show wins to its credit, this car is absolutely gorgeous. All the new parts make it bulletproof reliable. And the price just can't be beat. Is there anything better than a Camaro that gets everything right? Call today!
