Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1954
PRICED RIGHT FOR A QUICK SALE! SOLID DRIVER!
1954 Chevy 150 for sale - 55,000 original miles. Great condition - super solid body & frame. Undercarriage has what appears to be original or dealer-applied undercoating & it is tough. I tried to remove some with a putty knife to see how thick it was and didn't even put a scratch in the stuff. Car spent most of its life near Flint, MI and most likely why the undercoating was applied. I am the third owner of this car. Previous owner had it since 1988. Original owner was from Michigan. Car tracks down the road straight and true - the front end was rebuilt by the previous owner about 5-6 years ago. The paint is about three years old, but it's flaking off around the belt line trim because of poor prep work. The paint shop decided it would be easier to mask and paint around the stainless steel trim around the belt line and windows. This left unprotected areas for moisture and crud to sneak in, and the paint has started to peel and flake around the stainless trim. Bare metal can be seen underneath the flaking paint and it is visibly solid. Aside from the flaws around the belt line, the paint is holding up just fine. I have the DuPont paint codes for an easy touch-up. Rebuilt inline 6 engine runs strong but leaks at the side cover (needs a new side cover gasket - very easy job for the backyard mechanic). It has a 3-speed column shift or "three on the tree" as they used to call it. Good 4-wheel manual drum brakes, but an upgrade to disc brakes would be a better option. All stock, 6-volt electrical, no body or engine mods. New battery, new blue-dot tail lights. New front seat upholstery. Original bias-ply spare in trunk. She's not perfect, but at 62 years old, she is a straight, solid driver, and an absolute blast to drive. I get compliments and thumbs-up wherever I drive it. She is waiting for your custom touches! It has a LOW but realistic reserve - I can't give it away! Car can be viewed in person at Mike's Garage, 506 Northwest Hwy, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Must sell ASAP, I am moving on to the next project! Please feel free to message me with any questions.
The video below was from 2014 when the car was unloaded off the transporter. The "Mr. Blue" graphic has since been removed...
I have this vehicle listed for sale in all the usual places. I reserve the right to end early, call you funny names, blah blah blah...GOOD LUCK!
