Description for Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1971

Numbers Matching 1971 SS 454 Monte Carlo. Car has been off the road since 1991 when the owner started a concourse restoration. Unfortunately, he died and the car was taken over by the body shop where it sat for 10 years. Car was purchased as a painted shell and then boxes upon boxes were gone through to reassemble the car to where it is today. Is the car real? Yes, it was researched heavily before it was purchased. Vin is on the block(1L132394 CPD), block number 3963512(71 454) and build date was at the end of December(Car was built in February). Last year for the Monte SS until the 80's.
Body: As stated, body was painted and vinyl top was professionally installed before purchase. There is no rust or bubbling on the body and the paint looks great. No rust underneath as factory type undercoating wasused. Frame was professionally redone and has paint dabs on front suspension. Is clean enough to eat off of. Boxes of NOS parts were put on. All the emblems, windshield moldings and lower trim are NOS. Even the rubber strip on the bumper is new. They just started repoping them at a cost of $400.00.
Drivetrain: Original 454 engine with turbo 400. Rear is a 12 bolt with the f41 suspension. Everything is new or rebuilt, brakes, brackets, swaybars, etc.. All SS 454 had the air leveling system, tank under hood is restored as is rear brackets and valves. Unfortunately, the shocks are not present.
Interior: Most of the interior has been redone. Seats, carpet, dash pad, door panels, etc. have been restored. Gauges all work, clock, tach, speedo, temp, fuel, etc. Lights are in working order also.
All in all a great car for the price. Only 1900 SS 454 Monte's made in 71. You can get in this car and drive it and tinker with some things that aren't perfect. Only has 3 Goodyear Eagle ST tires on it. I have tried to find another but very difficult to locate. I didn't want to do BF TA's because these tires are so cool and have that old school vibe. New owner can do what he or she wants. Front parking lights have been located and will be installed on the car for the new owner.
