Description for Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 1988
Please do not bid on this truck unless you intend to pay for it!!! I hate that I have to start an auction this way but unfortunately too many people think its acceptable to bid and not pay and I would rather not have to file any more unpaid item claims. If your feedback is less than 10 PLEASE contact me before bidding, otherwise I reserve the right to cancel the bid. THE DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS VIA PAYPAL!!! The balance can be paid in cash or certified check. I reserve the right to hold the vehicle until the payment clears.
Also, please keep in mind that this auction does NOT include the wheels and tires that are currently on the truck. They are available for purchase however, if the new owner wants them. I will provide a set of TransAm style wheels with the truck to the buyer (shown in the pictures, tires are shot but hold air just fine). Or the buyer can providetheir own wheels. The wheels pictured are brand new polished American Racing Torque Thrust 15x8 with255/60/15 Cooper Cobra's. They have about 5 miles on them. I paid $1500 but I'll sell themfor $1000.
The truck is a 1988 Chevrolet Silverado C1500. It has the 5.7 V8 and 700R4 automatic transmission. It currently has 93,543 miles on it. The truck runs, drives, shifts, and stops like it should. No smoke, major leaks, or funny noises. Everything on the truck works as it should. The only thing that could use repair is the A/C. It works but itdoesn't get very cold. I assume it needs to be charged because the compressor is cycling quickly. If I have time this week I'll take it to my mechanic and have it fixed. Its still R12 so I'm sure it'll need to be converted. New brakes, radiator, and battery.
The interior is in very good condition. There are NO cracks in the dash. The door panels are nearly perfect. The seat shows very little wear on the drivers side. There are no missing or broken trim pieces. All lights and gauges work as they should. It will need a new headliner and I planned on replacing the carpet because it has some stains, but it may be able to be cleaned.
The body of the truck is very nice. Almost zero rust, with the exception of the drivers side cab corner. Everything else is extremely solid. The underside of the truck is also very nice and clean. No rust on the frame or bottom of the cab or bed. The fiberglass bedsides are nearly perfect. The truck shows no signs of ever being wrecked. All the panel gaps are very nice and all the doors, hood, and tailgate open and close perfectly. The paint is shot. It apparently faded and peeled on the top surfaces and the previous owner put some black spray paint on it to keep it from rusting. Itdoesn't look the best but it does thejob for now. The windshield does have a small crack on the passenger side, I tried to take a picture of it but it wouldn't show up.There is a dent on the lower corner of the drivers door and a ding in the middle of the passenger door, both shownin the pictures. Otherwise the truck is damage free.
I bought this truck a fewyears ago with the intentions of restoring it. It was only owned by two brothers before me. The only major thing thetruck needs is paint. With a propernice paint job, this truck will easily be worth close to $10k. But the truckhas mainly justbeen sitting since I bought it, and nowI'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel so I'm going to let the truck goto raise some extra funds. You could get in this thing right now and drive it anywhere. It's ready to be a daily driver as it sits. But it is the perfect candidate for a restoration also. It is very very straight and hasn't been messed with and is basically still 100%original. If you have any questions feel free to call or text me any time at 812-457-2668.Shipping must be arranged by the buyer, butI'll be happy to help any way I can. Or you can fly into Evansville and drive the truck home. Please don't be afraid to ask questions. I'll gladly provide any further information or pictures needed. Testdrives and inspections are always welcome. Thanks for looking and good luck!
