Description for Chevrolet G20 Van 1991
This auction is for the van without the custom wheels shown! I have the stock wheels/tires back on it now as seen in the last photo.I listed it this way becauseI know most peopledo notwant to pay the cost of the wheels/tires as they are a $2000 CNC machined and powder-coated set.
I love finding these stock work vans that arecompletely rust free and turning them into a 70s style custom van.I look for a van with a good running engine and transmission and rust freeoriginal body. I basically find them and build them andfind the next owner for them.I love doing this andthe reason I started DVW is so I couldre-create my own 60s/70s style custom rides. Some I put paint jobson and create a whole theme for it, others like this I just give the look to and let go to the next owner as a blank canvas to do what ever they want with. Thefiberglass flare and visor kit is made new from Kurk and customvan.com for around 1000.00 shipped. This one is ready for an A-team van look or your wildest dreams.
Thischevy has a fuel injected 350 5.7L with overdrive. The engine runs strong, quiet, and cool. The transmission shifts smooth as it should. It brakes strong. I replaced a few items as preventative maintance: new starter, new alternator, catalytic converters.New in the lastfew years:radiator, hoses, thermostat, water pump, plugs cap rotor plug wires. Inside is open cargo, it had been fully sound/heat insulated inside and is ready for interior.
I have had the van for about 6 months. There was no door key when I bought it and the driver door does not have the lock cylinder. Has many scratches, dings and the dents on the side cargo doors as seen. It was re-painted probably 10 years ago. A/C is not cold. Inside driver door handle, window crank are broken, windshield has a crack, rear wheel bearing is going badand is loud(can hear it whining - will need to be repairedvery soon. The steeringhas a lot of play. The speedometer bounces and is dying. Passenger seat has a bad rips, door seals are worn, headlight trim - probably will have one on it by the time it sells. It is a rust free Arizona vehicle so nothing is very difficult to repair - there are no rusted nuts or bolts and every part for this van is easily located and cheap to buy. I suppose technically there is some faded sunburnedspots on roof that are orangish "rust" I guess, the surface kind that is rubbed off with SOS/steel wool.
Shipping the van is simple if you are out east or in the Midwest. There is a local shipper here I trust and have used several times. They are a little more expensive on average - but the drivers and their equipment is on the higher level.
I doubt anyone wants to do this, but I will offer to drive the van to the winning bidders location in the USA for the cost of gas, my plane ticket home, and the cost to repair the wheel bearing before hitting the road. Gas costs from AZ to say NY is gong to be about $500-600. the flight would be around $250, and the wheel bearing probably about $250 also. At that cost its probably easier to ship it and save the2500-3000 miles for your road trips.
If you can pick it up locally, cash payment will be accepted. If you have to ship it, bank wire transfer is safest and is preferred, but I can accept a check once it clears, or paypal as long as the payment issent without fees or you make sure the amount I receive is the full amount. That's all I can think of.
International sales are welcome. I would love to see this van go to Japan or Europe or down-under, or anywhere I can visit it in the future after the new owner makes it their own.
