Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1972
I am listing this car (spur of the moment) to offer it for sale before I invest anymore time or money. NOW is the time to buy it! There is an Orange one on Ebay for sale right now for $99,000 (which is a bargain). You hardly ever see one less than $100,000 (all number's matching). I am on the list of 31 found out of the 70 produced. This is a automatic, power steering, power disc brake, buckets, console and a/c car. This project had stalled a few years ago for health reasons. I turn the engine over by hand at least once a month. I just don't seem to have time to complete it anytime soon and hate that it has gathered dust just sitting in the shop. It's time for someone else to take it over and finish it. The hard work is done, paint, detailsand assembly left. Car was mocked up for panel fitment. Will need taken apart for final body and paint.
I bought it in pieces years ago with the body off. Drive train, floor, frontend and frame all restored in correct colors. This body was 95% rust free with only two rust spots in the floor, one hole the size of a quarter and one the size of a nickel. No rust in the trunk. The Chevelle had all itsoriginal panelsfrom the factory. I replaced the quarter panels because of repairs in the past that was done with brazing rod in the wheel wells. Car was sold new in Yukon, OK and I bought it south of Little Rock, AR. It has been down south it's whole life! This car had never been wrecked.
I have all parts to complete. Some need reconditioned, many are new. New top, seat upholstery, foam, door panels, carpet, seals, windshield, etc. Lots of N.O.S. parts. Has N.O.S. quarter panels I bought back when they didn't reproduce them and paid a crazy price for them!New correct dual exhaust with resonators and chrome tips.
A lot of time and care was taken when mounting the body to the frame. It is mounted better than factory, the proof is inhow good everything lines up without any shims to the body.
I had no intensions of selling, so Iwas going to change thecolor to flame orange. I am not sure how a color change would effect the value. Finish this car factory correctas it has been done to this pointor finish to your taste.
PleaseCALL with questions! I candescribe the car over the phone better than typing for an hour. I find REAL buyers willcall.I will not run out and take a ton of pictures. Like I said, I did not preparefor selling. If I take it ou, wash it up, put on the exhaust, gather all the parts for a photo opp., the price will go up. People that know about "W" code convertibles know what I have. If not, send an expert, or fly out yourselfto inspect.
