Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969
Beautiful 1969 Camaro Z/28. There is a lot of information here. Please read all the way through before asking questions as I have attempted to represent this car as accurately as possible. As you can see, it is a beautiful car in very nice driver condition.
This is a X77 Z/28 dressed up as a X33 Z/28. However, it does not have a DZ stamped 302 motor. Instead, it has a ZZ4 350. You can look these up online. In short, it is a "modern" 350 V8 with a vintage look that can be ordered through GM. This one is the 355hp version. It is extremely reliable and runs on unleaded gas. The transmission is a correct Muncie 4 spd. The rear end is a 3.31, which makes the car very freeway friendly. The MagnaFlow exhaust sounds very nice. Otherwise, the car is completely stock. So, if somebody wanted to return this car to stock, a DZ stamped 302, correct exhaust, and new rear end (3.73) would pretty much do it. This car retains its original color scheme of Glacier Blue exterior and blue interior, as it would have come from the factory. (I have provided cowl tag info below). Some of the interior looks like it may be original (seats, door panels, dash), so the seats have more wear and patina than appear in the pics. The gauges all work except for the clock. The fuel gauge is somewhat inaccurate. ¼ tank is when it is empty (learned that the hard way).
I would characterize this car as a fantastic driver. It's definitely on the nicer side of most drivers you will see. However, it does have some flaws including a few chips and one small scrape I have shown in the pics. Otherwise, paint shines very, very nicely.
I don't have any history on this car prior to my ownership. I bought the car about 5 ½ years ago from American Dream Machines in Iowa. Since then, I have put about 5k miles on it and it has been garaged every day and night in my garage in San Diego, CA. It starts and drives without issue. True mileage is unknown.
This car is a fantastic driver that is sure to hold its value because it is a real Z/28. You can't drive this car without expecting thumbs ups and people stopping you at gas stations to tell you how much they love the car. This car can also make an excellent restoration project as it has very straight lines (straighter than even some restored cars I have seen) and very nice gaps.
Cowl tag info is as follows (image is hard to make out):
· ST 69 (model year)
· TR 715 (blue interior)
· 05 A (built first week of May)
· NOR325345 (body number - this number has nothing to do with the VIN)
· 53 (Glacier Blue exterior)
· X77 (Z/28 sans style trim group - as in the X33)
Please note, this is a nearly 50-year-old car. If you have never owned a classic car, please do your research. Classic cars do not drive like newer model vehicles. This car is a driver and not a show car. It has flaws but is great for cruise nights and enjoying a true American classic.
I am selling the car only because I have too many cars and I want to spend more time with family.
I have bought and sold many cars online. Scammers, please save your time. This car will not leave my garage until all funds have cleared my account. $500 deposit via PayPal is required within 24 hours of end of auction. I am happy to continue to store the car in my garage until the new owner can pick it up or arrange shipping. You are welcome to come see the car, but serious buyers only, please. If you have any questions, please send me a note and include your phone number. Please do not ask the reserve. I will just say I have set it very fairly for the condition of the car and somebody is going to get a great value. Enjoy bidding.
