Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1970
Hi, I am selling my 1970-1/2 RS Z28 Camaro. This is an early 95% original survivor split nose, RS Z28 with one repaint from the original Lemans Blue with black stripes to hugger orange with black stripes early 80's by original owner. I am second owner and have owned since 2013, It has the rare 3-pc spoiler and one year only head rests. This is an original car and as such has bumps, scratches and now a ding thanks to a Napa truck at my mechanics but it is the real deal. Details below.
Numbers matching motor was rebuilt about 400 miles ago and I dropped the compression to 10:1 for todays gas and the car runs great and does not lack power.. Original carburetor was restored by Sean Murphy at SMI and he curved the non original HEI distributor (original points distributor works fine and comes with car) I run Dougs ceramic tri - Y's on all my cars and this is no different. I do not have the original exhaust manifolds.
As for the original owner, he liked to drive the car to the track, swap tires and run what you brung. At the time he had a big block in the car with tunnel ram and the original small block in the garage. The long 3" wheel lug are still on the rear tires. Due to the tunnel ram the orginal hood is gone but there is a correct original hood on the car in primer. There are some small cut outs on the firewall and one in the trunk where they ran lines see photos. We replaced the wiring harnesses as they had spliced into some areas over the years and I don't really like that so all the harnesses are all good and labeled. The car is 110% reliable, fun, and bad to the bone.
The Muncie 4 speed is not original but is the correct wide ratio gearing and is from a 65 SS Chevelle. All other items are original and interior seats, dashpad are in great shape no cracks or rips or holes nd the headliner and carpet are new, however years ago they dyed the blue kick panels and soft goods black so small portions of the original blue are showing up. All electrical items work including clock. Engine pad code is CTB
Car is and was always serviced and maintained. Brand new BF Goodrich radial T/A's. Original Z28 wheels and has never been apart so the doors close great, the gaps are good and the body was laser straight until a napa auto parts truck backed into the front left fender and put a small dent in it which may pop out but either way the fender is totally repairable. See photos
This is a rock solid, real RS Z28 factory sheet metal car with one repaint and rebuilt motor. It has minimal surface rust due mostly to the RS chrome trim around the windows. 90 of RS chrome is on the car or comes with it and many extra parts.
Registered in California with clean tags and clean title in my name ready for immediate sale.
Local bidders encouraged to come view car in person
Read my feedback and bid with confidence and let me know if you have any questions.

On Aug-06-18 at 21:16:42 PDT, seller added the following information:****forgot to mention original dual snorkel air cleaner comes with car. It does not fit with HEI so if you wanted to use it you would have to reinstall original distributor which is rebuilt and worked great.****
