Call…  706-831-1899 Up for auction is a rare 1-owner 1957 Chevy Belair. I purchased this 57 Chevy last week from “THE” original owner; and not only that we met at the (now closed) Chevrolet dealership where he bought the car new… to complete our transaction as shown in the opening pictures! The owner. Bobby Jones. purchased this 1957 Chevy brand new in November of 1956. He owned the car and drove it regularly until I purchased the car from him last week. The car had 1 re-paint in the mid to late 70’s and the car has never been taken apart. The doors shut almost by themselves and the body is 100 percent all original. There is a little rust spot in the trunk under the old original brittle mat that is not too bad as you will see in the pictures below. The passenger side front floor pan seems a little weak but other than those two places it is solid. The paint is the original Coral color. It does have some cracks in the paint but it really doesn’t look to bad at all…especially considering the age of the paint. It has all original chrome and bright work with nice patina. (No aftermarket parts here). The glass is all original and never been out. The wheels and hubcaps are original as well.     The seats were recovered in the 80’s; however the original seats still exist under the seat covers. I thought about taking the covers off to get to the originals but I decided to leave it like he has it. The lights and gauges work and the turn signals but the radio and horn do not. I haven’t checked them to see why. Could be a fuse. The mileage is plus 100 which is 155. 38 original miles. The windows roll up and down smooth as silk. The original engine. transmission and rear end are all in the car and have not been out and have not been restored. The motor starts right up and runs excellent. It doesn’t smoke and the car runs nice and cool. The owner stated that he has had it serviced regular and always. The car rides and drives unbelievable and actually better in my opinion than many of the restored cars that I’ve driven! The transmission shifts good but a little tight going in to 1st and reverse (left side of shift pattern). but does go in and not a problem. The underside is original. It is solid and I will show lots of pictures underneath. This is a good and solid Iconic 57 Chevy. No worries of bondo or body filler here. This would be a perfect car to restore or in my opinion just leave it like it is and enjoy it. There certainly aren’t many originals around and a car like this one is always the hot topic at the car shows!
