Description for Chevrolet Caprice 1969
This is a 1969 Chevy Caprice 2 Door Custom Coupe with about 83k original miles. It has a rare early factory 400 small block engine with an automatic transmission. The 400 engine wasn't supposed to be available until the 1970 model year, but this 1969 Caprice has a matching number 400 small block. The casting number on the back of the engine block is 3951511, which means that it is a 4 bolt main 400 small block. The last 6 digits of the V.I.N. of the car are stamped onto the front engine pad behind the alternator. The letter code at the end of the stamped numbers is CGR. It still has the original 2 barrel carburetor, points style ignition, and single exhaust. It is also equipped with factory air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes, original am/fm radio, rally wheels, and a 12 bolt rear end. The ac will need checked out and recharged. All of the lights are working except the dome light. It has a solid frame and floors and a nice trunk with spare and original bumper jack. The car was repainted 30+ years ago. The body has some surface rust and patina, but there aren't any rust holes. The interior is all original and very good condition for it's age. The dash pad is not cracked. The original carpet is worn and doesn't look like it was ever lifted up. It has a new starter, new ignition points, a new fuel pump and a rebuilt 2 barrel carburetor. The brake system was completely gone over with a new master cylinder and new rear wheel cylinders. The gas tank was removed and cleaned. A new gas tank sending unit was installed. It is currently registered as an antique vehicle in PA. I drive it once a week and it runs and drives good. You are welcome to come and see the car before bidding or buying. Thanks for looking. If you are the high bidder, a $500 deposit through Paypal is due within 48 hours of auction's end. The remaining balance is due in cash within 7 days unless other arrangements are made.
