Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1965
If you're looking for a cool cruising Corvette, we can show you something else in our inventory. Instead, this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is a big block pro-street machine that can eat up any asphalt from the boulevard to the dragstrip. The fact that this full professional build also happens to be made from one of your favorite classic American sports car icons is just the cherry on top. This might be an iconic classic, but you can... also instantly see it was built for intimidation. The front bumper is removed for the wide opening appearance of a Grand Sport Corvette. The red stinger hood against the silver paint draws plenty of attention to the power bulge that leads the way. And even though they tubbed the rear end, you can still easily see that they made sure there's plenty of Mickey Thompson rubber meeting the road. The reason for such an intimidating machine is because you're looking at a Corvette by champion builder Randy Hagerty. There is a color-matched hardtop if you want to try and pretend to be incognito. But that full roll cage that you see with the top off really completes the whole package that announces this is a very professional and serious street-eating machine. Inside is more of that race-ready attitude. The full NHRA roll cage is hinged to get in easier. You and your passenger strap into proper racing seats with full Simpson racing harnesses. This doesn't mess around with pedestrian accessories. Instead, you have Auto Rod Controls (ARC) Model 4000 touch panel control for all your important components. There's a grippy Grant sports steering wheel, Precision Performance shifter, full AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauge package, and a bright shift light. Oh yes, this is everything you need for a true racer. The whole front end is secured by Dzus fasteners, and when it tilts forward, you get fantastic access to this stout big block. This is a new 468 cubic inch V8 built by Robert Norez. It's a fortified, full roller cam, powerhouse built to run on pump gas, with 454 aluminum heads, Stewart high flow water pump, aluminum pulleys, 7 qt oil pan, steel braded lines, Griffin dual core aluminum radiator, and much more. It's topped with a Holley 780 Dominator four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock air-gap intake. This exhales with authority as a huge set of 2 ½" dia. headers feed the side-exit exhaust. This big power machine feeds a Hughes Performance Pro-Glide Powerglide that features a Hughes Flexplate, Hughes trans brake, and 2,500 stall. The rear-suspension is a Ford 9-inch unit by Mark Williams Enterprises with 4.30 gears for great performance off the line. And you have all the right suspension components, including strong A-arms up front, a reinforced four-link rear, adjustable coilovers at each wheel, and four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with restoration photos and a reproduction build sheet, this is the serious race-style Corvette with all the right builder names you want. So if you want a two for one, then you know you need this car. Drive it daily on the street and to car shows on the weekends, or bolt on the 65" wheelie bars, clip on the matching snorkel hood, attach the Stroud parachute and window net then set the Hurst line lock for gnarly burn outs at the dragstrip.
