Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1971
This 1971 Chevrolet K-20 Custom 4x4 is a real-deal fire truck. And while the opportunity to get a true survivor like this already should have you excited, what's really going to amaze you is how this ultra-low mileage hero still fires up with gusto and feels exceptionally tight on the road. This one seriously earns its unique look. It's a genuine former brush fire truck from Providence, NC. The fire engine red paint and full Providence Volunteer Fire... Department livery is believed to be all original to when this pickup was in service. While a 4x4 like this should have been used up in the name of serving the community, this one only has about 10,500 miles on it, and the Providence Fire Department stands by this as actual miles. So it has an awesome look of patina that comes with the right combination of age and respect. More than just the paint, this one wears its history well from vintage disc brakes badge on the tailgate, to the well-worn wooden slats of the long truck bed on this extra-duty K20. Inside is a truck that's ready to get to work. The black on the seat, door panels, and floor looks great against the red. It's represented properly with just light signs of wear to remind you that this had a very purposeful life for decades. This has the ideal classic pickup experience where you get an airy cab, large and grippy factory steering wheel, crisp gauges, and a gearstick exactly where you want rest your right hand. Under the hood is Chevy's hardy 350 cubic-inch V8 topped with a four-barrel carburetor. It's believed to be the original motor, and it shows the right look, right down the gently faded "Keep your GM truck all GM" decal on the air topper. But you can also see from the fresher components that this V8 has been treated to the right maintenance. That's why this motor fires up with the kind of ease that lets you know this vintage truck still wants to get to work. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case, proper Cooper Discoverer tires, four-speed manual transmission with low gearing all really let this truck earn its keep whenever it wants. But what really makes this a great all-around classic is the solid feeling it retains on the road. It's a terrific driver, and the power steering and front disc brakes make it an easy anytime choice. The sale comes complete with title documentation verifying its service to Providence. This is an exceptional all-around classic and hero. So you know you're looking at a rare opportunity at something quite special. Call now!
