Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957
This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is a full frame-off restored example of THE ultimate motoring icon. Not only does it look beautiful, but it also has all the best driving upgrades, including a crate V8, overdrive transmission, and an A/C interior. So if you love to drive your legends, the ultimate one is up for grabs right now. This car looks spectacular in white. Especially because they made a serious investment in a modern application and a... professional hand applying it during the car's full restoration. The pristine look and clearcoat shine is the perfect complement to all that brightwork that makes this '57 Chevy the true icon of the American road. You can see there was a small fortune spent making sure the hallmark front grille/bumper shines like a mirror. Plus, the rest is just as brilliant on the dual bullet-style hood ornaments, trim outlining the tailfins, golden Chevrolet badging for this VC-model, and the Nomad's rear slats that were just as much about style as they were protecting the tailgate. The full-length trim with bright fan-style rear is a true icon all on its own, and so on an example like this, it's looking like an unbroken line of pure shine. The reason why we respect the Nomad so much is that these were more expensive than the Bel Air wagon or even the convertible, and so the production numbers were always tantalizingly low. The red interior is a bold standout against the red. As you look inside, you can see that they spent plenty of time and money really getting the restoration right. That means plush carpeting, taut door panels, and comfortable seats. They really paid attention to detail, right down to the button-top presentation on the black textured insert on the seats. The rubber floor in the rear cargo area is even looking bright and soft, so the only hauling this wagon will likely be doing is hauling home trophies. But more than just a looker, this one was built to enjoy the drive. That's why you have an upgraded sports steering wheel on a tilt column. And there are more nicely integrated features, like a more modern AM/FM/cassette stereo with digital tuner â€" it allows for more modern music players to be hooked-up but it still fits in the factory round dial opening. Ice-cold R134a air conditioning means you can bring everyone along and keep them comfortable. The Tri-Five Chevys ushered in the legendary small block era, so it's great to see the tradition updated in the engine bay with a 350 cubic-inch crate motor. It's this kind of freshness that's why the V8 fires up eagerly. The four-barrel carburetor lets the motor inhale deeply, and it gives a sweet sound out of the H-pipe dual exhaust. This is a great power package, and as you dig deeper, you're going to discover a terrific all-around driving package. This is upgraded with a four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive. Plus, there's a CPP power steering box, drilled & slotted power front disc brakes, and the upgrade to Ridler 17-inch wheels allow for grippy modern tires. And as you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see they paid attention to details. So not only does it have the correct red underside, you also have fresh components that make this feel tight on the road. This is the terrific-looking Nomad that's been restored so you can drive and enjoy it everywhere. That's an awesome package just waiting for a true enthusiast to grab it. Call now!
