Description for Chevrolet El Camino 1970
This 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS tribute is a deep and dark mean machine â€" and it even has a performance-built fuel-injected big block under the hood to back it all up. But when you see the overall quality of the work, and upgrades like the A/C interior, you soon see that something that looks so sinister can also be so nice to enjoy. The only thing this El Camino looks like it was meant to do is... haul on asphalt. The black paint has the kind of luster that so nicely complements the shine on the trim around the grille, windows, and around the truck bed. You can really tell there was a nice investment in making sure everything was straight so the shine could remain even. The 1970 El Caminos share the same single-year front end as its Chevelle sibling, and the iconic look will always be in demand. Plus, it has the right speedy look with hood pins, Super Sport mag wheels, and the iconic dual white racing stripes that draw extra attention to the super scoop cowl hood. When you combine them with the mirror-like wide chrome bumper up front, it gives this classic the look like it always has a menacing smile (and once you drive it, you'll know exactly why!) Inside is exactly what you want in a classic muscle machine. Bucket seats, center console, and the horseshoe shifter. When you look beyond the three-spoke sports steering wheel, you see the proper U14 sports gauge package with large speedo and tach. And while all of this is about vintage performance, you also get some nice upgrades. For example, the seats are finished in a comfortable velour. The stereo is an upgraded Kenwood AM/FM unit with a USB input that's handy for everything from plugging in your iPod to charging your phone. It connects to a full JL Audio speaker system w/subwoofer. The recent addition of a Vintage Air system means this is blowing cold with modern R134a. Under the hood is the unmistakable look of well-built V8 power. This is a healthy 454 cubic-inch big block. It has been fortified and enhanced with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, an aluminum intake, cast aluminum valve covers, upgraded pulleys w/serpentine belt, Milodon oil pan, and a Hooker long tube headers that feed the growling H-pipe dual exhaust. The whole setup is topped with an Edelbrock fuel injection system for optimal performance and delivery. The TCI TH400 three-speed transmission is a stout unit that can handle the power and also have smooth automatic cruising. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see a tidy setup with even more great investments. It includes Global West tubular control arms up front and boxed arms with a thick sway bar in the rear. Add in power steering and power brakes w/discs up front, and this is an awesome total package that lets you enjoy all the power with ease. This SS tribute really does have everything. It even has the nice "L" in the trim tag everyone is looking for on their speedy Kansas City El Caminos. So you know it's a special big power machine that you want to get your hands on right now.
