Description for Chevrolet C-10 1962
Up for auction at "no reserve" is my 1962 Chevrolet C-10 shortbed pickup truck. It has its original 235 c.i. inline 6 cylinder engine that has been rebuilt and runs on unleaded fuel. 3 speed manual transmission with on the column shift. This truck originally came from the state of Texas. This is a solid truck with minimal rust. The undercarriage is dry and clean which is typical of south/western trucks. Zero rust above the windshield. Floors, cab supports, doors and inner rockers are dry and as solid as I have seen for an unrestored pickup, as shown in my pictures. The rust the truck has is pretty much isolated to the area by the bottom of the front fenders directly behind the front tires which is typical for this era truck. All the glass is nice with no cracks. The body is super straight with hardly a single dent. Truck was repainted once in the late 70's. The body has not been repaired since or had any repaints since then. The paint is old and fading in some spots like the top of the hood and the top of the rear fenders. Has some nice patina. Engine fires right up with the aid of a manual choke. I recently rebuilt the carburetor. Runs well and does not tick, knock or smoke. I have noticed some drips of oil on my driveway recently. Drives nice and straight down the road and is a joy to drive. Transmission works as it should and shifts through all the gears with ease. The clutch is a little abrupt when first engaged but does not slip and is fine in normal driving. I recently replaced the brake master cylinder. Brakes work very good and the pedal is firm and right at the top. You can daily drive this truck. Clean matching numbers title and vin. In my opinion this is a unique and special truck and I wish I didn't have to sell it. I have no inside storage for it this winter and can't stand to have it sit outdoors. So I am putting it up for auction at "no reserve". Truck will be sold to the highest bidder. I hope my old truck finds a good home and finds someone who will enjoy it.
