Description for Chevrolet 1 Ton 3800 Panel Delivery Dually 1946
1946 Chevrolet 1 Ton Panel Delivery Factory Dually (RARE)
Be honest, when have you ever seen another one like this? Extremely low production numbers and I could not find any similar 3800 series dually panel delivery vehicles from 1946 for sale online anywhere.
This 46 Chevy Panel Delivery is a real 'Eye Catcher'. Consider the huge side panels and rear section as the perfect 'ROLLING BILLBOARD'! Park it in front of your place of business to get great exposure and best of all, talk to your tax consultant about the tax deductions for advertising that you might receive. Invest in a Classic that is appreciating and gain some potential tax savings before the end of the year. Win-Win!
Restored about 10 years ago. Upgraded to a 1980 Chevrolet Step-Van chassis with power disc brakes in front, power steering, much improved suspension. Huge rear brakes and drums are all brand new. Excellent braking.
Engine is a 383 cubic inch Chevy stroker. Lots of power. Brand new Vortec heads were installed about 2,000 miles ago and greatly improved the performance. TH400 3 speed automatic transmission was rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago. Very smooth shifting! Engine has a total of about 50,000 miles since full rebuild. Starts and runs excellent.
Miles on odometer show 70,150 and believe the instrument panel came from the step-van, but no idea of actual true mileage
Has 3:73 differential for excellent towing. Receiver hitch installed at rear with 7 pin round modern plug. Pull an RV or any type of trailer with ease.
All brand-new radial tires.
Original vacuum wipers have been upgraded to Newport Engineering 2 speed electric for improved operation.
Has Vintage Air Conditioning installed that works great. See under dash clean installation. All the modern safety and convenience upgrades in a 73 year old Classic. Also has tilt steering wheel, 4 Captains seats and ample storage behind seats.
Easy access to rear seats on passenger side. Front passenger seat slides forward to provide access.
Very good looking in person. Runs and drives excellent. It is a truck, so does not drive like a Cadillac, but drives very well. Capable of driving 65-70MPH easily, even while towing.
Actually, looks better in person that pictures indicate. Had an overcast day with poor lighting.
The is not a '100 point' show restoration, but it is an excellent daily driver that you do not have to make excuses about. I would call it an excellent '10-footer'.
Front windshield cranks out for added summer ventilation and cool appearance.
Be happy to answer any question you have and can assist with auto transport loading. This Panel Delivery is long and heavy. Located in Nampa, Idaho 83687 near Boise for transport quotes. Also willing to pick buyer up at Boise Airport, if you choose to fly in and drive home. Would not be afraid to it take cross country.
NADA guides reflect the current high retail value at $44,800 in its all original stock configuration. This would be considered a Restomod with all of the modern upgrades and they are often selling at recent auctions for well more than stock vehicles. Reserve is set over 20% lower than NADA. It would cost you in excess of $50,000 to restore this Panel Delivery to its present condition today. If you could find a nice rust-free donor to start with?? No rust on this Idaho vehicle!
