Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1972
This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is the kind of muscle car we'd all like to own: a thumping 350 cubic inch V8 for power, an attention-grabbing blue paint job and an awesome stance that makes this muscle car look fast just sitting still. This Chevy represents a whole lot of vintage car for the money and it runs every bit as good as it looks too.If you're going to make some noise, you may as well paint it a vivid color like the blue on this '72. The bodywork is very solid, with good fit and finish and panels that reflect light almost distortion-free, and on a car like this, it matters. All the wonderful details of the late A-body design are there, including the character line that runs from nose to tail, and a slick roof (instead of the vinyl pad found on most Chevelle Malibus) that really makes this bright blue car play the part of a street brawler. And no Chevy ever came out of the factory with paint that is as neon bright as the finish on this Chevelle, which almost begs you to reach out and touch it, and even though it isn't perfect, it sure does turn a lot of heads when it's banging down the boulevard. There's a subtle de-badging, which cleans up the flanks quite a bit, and the contrast of the stainless wheel arch moldings and rocker panel trim up against the blue paint looks great. We love that they resisted the usual SS badges and other bolt-on additions from the speed shop, which means this is just a clean, honest, driver-grade muscle car with a ton of street presence. Shiny chrome bumpers fore and aft are in good condition as well and classic Cragar S/S chrome wheels are a nice touch.
Inside, it remains largely stock, because there's not much you can do to improve on one of Chevy's best designs. The black vinyl upholstery is a replacement but replicates the factory patterns admirably, and the plush black carpets, crisp door panels, and matching dash pad are in solid shape as well. Sure, there are signs that this car has been driven and enjoyed, but could you blame anyone from wanting to spend some quality time inside this Chevelle? The factory gauges have been augmented by a column-mounted tachometer and a set of Equus auxiliary units below the dash, helping the driver monitor the engine's vitals more accurately. You already know we love the comfortable and spacious bench seats and floor-mounted B&M shifter, which manages a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. You'll also note the sporty Grant GT steering wheel that anchors the cockpit and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo, all sensible upgrades that make this car a pleasure to drive. Even the trunk is nicely finished with correct spatter paint and has enough room to account for almost any and all travel plans.
But the real fun of this one is the strong-running 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Nicely detailed, it is designed to look as slick as the exterior and they worked hard to highlight the upgrades that went into the build. The carburetor is a performance-oriented Edelbrock 4-barrel atop a Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake manifold, and with an efficient tight-to-the-block belt system running all the accessories, it has a potent idle and impressive mid-range punch. It barks immediately to life thanks to an HEI system and through a set of long-tube headers feeding a great-sounding H-pipe dual exhaust system with Flowmasters underneath. As mentioned earlier, there's also a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeding a 10-bolt with driver-friendly gears inside so it cruises easily at modern highway speeds without much effort. The suspension feels soft going down the road and with the assistance of power steering, it truly is a delight driving this car all around town. Retro-cool Cragar S/S wheels are the perfect touch and they wear fat 255/60/15 Cooper Cobra performance radials to finish the look.
Sometimes cars just stand out for how well-integrated they are, and this is one of those cars. A cool Chevelle Malibu with a ton of performance that will always get noticed. Call today!
