1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible SS Clone. 454 V-8. 4spd. transmission. PS. Power brakes front disc. Tilt wheel. Original radio was rebuilt and worked good on bench but only FM in car. The last owner purchased the car in 2003 and had it painted Red in 2004. It was taken to bare metal. the top. Doors. trunk lid and the whole front was removed. dipped. primed and painted. The inner fenders were powder coated by previous owner. New repro bumpers and grill installed. Some exterior trim was replaced and all stainless was polished. After the car left the body shop. New radial TA tires were installed. The Top frame has been dipped. painted and reinstalled with new Hartz top with glass window. Also in 2004 installed new shocks. Heater core. . bigger exhaust and Hurst shifter and linkage. The previous owner had already done the brake. So after that was all done owner drove the car to show and shine until 2013. In 2013 owner put in a new headlight/engine compartment wiring harness. new dash/instrument wiring harness. had a new Tach installed and checked or calibrated the other gauges. The original wiper motor was rebuilt. and purchased a Delco replacement windshield washer pump. Owner thought the car should perform better because in 72 the 454 was low horsepower. So in the summer of 2013 purchased a built 454 engine from Portland builder Angus Brandon. it has 10. 5 to 1 compression. Solid roller cam. roller lifters with roller tips. Edlelbrock performer intake with Quadra Jet carb/electric choke. HEI ignition and also installed new mufflers. In 2014 changed the master cylinder. Had the front end rebuilt and aligned. Also installed new Aluminum radiator. alternator and battery. In February 2015 The transmission was rebuilt with new syncros. bearings and main shaft. also new clutch. pressure plate and throw out bearing. Motor oil was changed with 5-20 full synthetic and Wix filter. The car came with power top all components rebuilt or new but not installed in car. The car has only been driven 5. 00 miles in the 12 yrs he owned it. Some history on car before this last owner. Car was cloned 25 years ago. It came factory as a Red Malibu convertible with white top and interior. 350 V-8. Auto trans. power steering and brakes-front disc. In the late 80's the owner then had wrecked a 72 SS Chevelle. He took the dash. steering column. 4spd. set up and 454 engine and installed in this car. He also installed Black interior and had painted car blue. Floor pans were replaced around this same time. Now the car is for sale and is in beautiful condition through out. Body is super straight and solid. excellent paint. top like new. Interior is excellent.
