Description for Chrysler Imperial 1969
For sale is my father's 1969 Chrysler Imperial. This is an all original car with theoriginal title issued on 1/31/1969. The car has been sitting for almost 30 years and my father gave it to me with the intention that my son would use the drivetrain in his 69 GTX. After getting the car started and pulling it out of storage, hate to tear it apart unless no one out there could use it as a project or parts car. I started it last week by simply putting in a fresh battery and pouring gas in the carb. The big 440 fired right up and upon putting gas in the tank, t settled down to a nice smooth idle with a minor fuel leak at the accelerator pump. It goes through the gears and moves, ut the brakes need attention and bleeding. The car could be restored, ut it would be a big challenge due to rust in thecowl and trunk floor. The major panels including hood, oors, nd trunk lid are in very good shape. Fenders and lower quarters need patch panels. All the trim is very straight and complet, ncluding bumpers, rille, eadlights, taillights etc. Glass is very useable and it has the rare formal rear window insert. Dash and instrument cluster are great without any cracks. The hideaway headlights flipped up when I pulled the switch but many of the other electrical switches will need cleaning. This would be a Great parts car for someone restoring an Imperial. I could save you thousands of dollars in time and freight if you are in need of major parts. I have restored rustier Mopars for sure, o I know it could be done, ut I just don't have the time for this project. The car will load on a trailer and I would be happy to help . Just want someone to have it that can use the most of the car or tackle it as a project. The engine soundedgreat and did not smoke...my dad was amazed when it started right away. The reserve is set at the value of the engine and drivetrain...so bid to buy it. Electronic funds must be in my bank before it goes anywhere and full amount is due within 3 business days. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
