Description for Dodge Power Wagon 1965
1965 Dodge W200 Power Wagon- Old School with exceptional patina and very little rust.
Winched out of a field in Farr West UT, his old Dodge has been brought back to life. It has been cleaned up and given some love. Super solid and quite straight, his runner could be used as is, ully restored, r be your basis for a diesel conversion. I have seen a lot of old trucks, nd this thing is solid.
Engine- 318 Poly, ires right up and runs good, hough I haven't had it on the highway, r driven it too much. Can't tell you the last time it was rebuilt, f ever. It doesn't smoke that I've seen, nd hasn't overheated in the short time we've had it running. The oil is clean and I installed a new canister style oil filter, new fuel pump and fuel filter, nd I was told it had a new clutch was installed not too long ago. All in all a runner, ut a good tune up is in order.
Driveline- 4-speed manual transmission, ana 44 rear, nd Dana 30 front. I shifted through all the gears, ngaged the transfer case in the different modes, ocked the hubs, tc. and driven around the shop yard and everything seems in order.
Brakes, teering, uspension- Manual drum brakes all around. Emergency brake works. Everything seems to work fine. Suspension looks stock with the addition of new rear shocks. Tires are 31" and have good tread.
Interior- Pretty much stock though aftermarket seat belts are ready to be replaced. Front seat is fully functional having been repaired and a cover installed. Door panel, nobs, andle etc. are in good condition and appear to be original.
Body- There are no data plates on the driver door. The entire truck has been cleaned, ncluding the chassis. The frame and running gear are really solid and were recently coated with Rustoleum red primer and top coated with Rustoleum Industrial satin black. Cab floors are completely solid with the exception of minor rust around the front cab mount bolts, nd rockers had some dents and rust. Fenders, ood, ootwells, ab corners, nd box sides are solid. A new bed was installed using BCX plywood. It's not the original type, ut serves it purpose and looks good. The original patina and paint has been augmented with a few touches, ollowed by 2 coats of 2-stage satin clear urethane, nside and out. Glass is good except 1 vent window is plexiglass.
Other- Lights work, ut knob missing. Alt meter work and gas gauge work. Speedo not working. Wiper switch not present but wiper motor and wiper arms are there. Heater controls need attention, ut blower works. Horns present, ut no button.
Summary- The western truck is an attractive example of the Dodge W Series. The classic Power Wagon look is totally cool. This truck has not been restored. It is a solid, unning truck, ixed up along the lines of the Rat Rod style. It wouldn't take much to raise the level a few notches with a little maintenance. As it is you should be able to take this truck off the trailer and drive down Main Street and have a little fun.
